We had one this summer, entilted Cops & Robbers. Went over very well. The crooks got like three different missions to go and steal something or rob something, and the Cops got missions do raids on suspected hide outs or do search warrants. Everyone was looking for an armored car that someone stole the night before. But it was up to the generals to decided which missions they were going to do and when, so the other team didnt know exactly what the other side was doing.

But it was pretty interesting. Costume contest. Had one guy that wore his trench coat and ski mask all day long. Man it was hot.

what about say a mafia wars? you have 2 mafia factions battling over who gets control of a territory or mining colony on some planet. maybe a third side that is the miners or a head hunters team and they go with whoever is giving them the best deal. you have a certain amount of money to deal with at the beginning and taking over the other teams base or a territory gives you that territory's money. during the whole war, you are still trying to smuggle and look for a rumored weapon that would be able to vaporize whole masses of people? the objectives are set, but the actual missions are put in place and run whenever the general feels, like jester's game. gotta start somewhere...

I love the multiple team scenarios. Go with the Mafia Wars, but toss in a third team of Mercenaries. They can wheel and deal and jump from side to side depending on a given mission.

We did one entitled Mercenaries. Five different teams. Went over better than you would have thought. No confusion, but a lot of teaming up and some back stabbing. Four merc teams and the United Nation peace keeping force. The Country used Mercs for soldiers, Diamond mine had mercs, oil field had mercs, and a group of mercs for hire.

nice, that was the idea i had about having a third team of miners or head hunters/mercs. my thing is i wouldn't want it as structured as some of the other games. just a basic framework and let the dons put their experience and skills to the test. i'd have the background, rules, and missions and objectives written out, with a few blank mission cards for the dons to come up with on their own.

If everybody rembers, the first FF had 4 teams. Some people complaned it was too much. When you deal with more then 2 planned teams, it adds a different element into the game. Teams (sides) willhave to work toghter or just spend the day running each other over.
If you try to put more then one them into a game, space with mafia, it can get very confusing to the players. I have read most of you stating that the "average" player c/o not knowing what is going on with the game unless they are at the base and in the command bunker itself.
What I would like to hear is this: other then the money aspect of things, what is one thing that you would like to see more /less of? ie: intell, missions, off set missions (not comming from the base), props, ect, ect.

I think that having 3 teams :2 sides and a merc team: adds a different element to the game, but it doesn't make it worse. I think it adds a good element to the game. I would love to see open ended missions that are though up by the general, don, etc. on the spot. It helps to keep everyone on their toes. I would like to see a game like I described go off on a good note. not everyone running over eachother but the 2 teams working with the mercs to complete their objectives.

I think intel can be easily overhauled by just adding an intel officer role card to the game. He/she gets a radio and while out on the field reports the intel he sees. by having a specific intel officer it eliminates the need for writing up extra cards. it gives the game a more realistic feel IMHO.
