ya I had a problem with the reffing as well. such as...

1. they were never where you needed them to be
2. they were known to walk off when timing your mission
3. They didnt just do random chrono checks, they stopped a squad of 20 of us in the middle of enemy territory when we had 2 mins to make it to our mission objective, I explained this and even asked him to just follow us and do it up the road and he would not. the whole time the enemy was watching us setting up all along the roadside where we needed to go.
4. they were bad about giving your spot away, kept walking in and out of where you were hiding at, talking on cell phones, etc...
5. some of them didnt wear anything to distinguish them as a ref, so they got mad when i shot them when they cam creeping up on me. I am sorry, but if you are wearing kahky pants and a brown shirt and a black mask, those are woodsball player colors, not ref colors.

there were a few other incidents but those were the major ones that I could think of. Not saying all the reffing was bad, the base refs were great, and I met another ref named something like twigy that was pretty cool as well. Got to give a lot of credit to the american base ref for getting those refs to us

Well, time for my AAR.

First off, I have to thank Ben and Bonnie for working with Connor and I, helping us get on the right side. Both of you were very helpful and were more than happy to help us work things out.

Ferg, Lee and the ref staff, you guys were awesome all weekend, there was some confusion, but it was all taken care of ASAP, I couldn’t ask for anything else.

Now on to the game:

This was the most intense game I have ever been a part of at CDP. I was on base defense 90% of the time, and the Germans did not let up all weekend. I shot through 2500 ball on Saturday alone, and it was barely enough to hold you guys off.

Hard Heads: Robert, once again, thanks for everything you (and your wife) did for us this weekend. We gave em hell all weekend, and we never let them take the CP. All the hard heads did a great job and I saw some very aggressive play from all of you.

B-Squad: Once again, you guys are a blast to run with. You are the most aggressive team I have been around, and it was a lot of fun rolling into Alpha with you guys.

Southern Discomfort: You guys were great, Havok and Cannibal did an awesome job both days, you kept us ready and motivated to fight. The name of the guy I was talking to during the lull on Sunday escapes me, but it was nice to have somebody to chat it up with.

Germans: I saw amazing sportsmanship for the most part all weekend, and it was a lot of fun fighting you off all day Saturday. I had a little bit of run with whoever was running the recon chopper on Saturday, although I didn’t catch his name. He got a little heated when I shot his out, but he realized that I had the chopper and he came over to have a laugh and we shook hands. Great stuff, that’s what keeps me coming back.

So, thanks for a great game and some terrific sportsmanship.

And congrats to the rest of the American on a hard fought victory.

ever wanted to know what it is like to be a general in a command post under seige? be forwarned, i let a few bad words slip due to being under extreme stress and alot of the noise you hear that sounds like a marker firing is actually paint slamming the metal roof and sides of my base.

Great Game!

Ben, Bonnie, Ferg and Lee Ann Thank you for such a great game. Ferg, I love the layout of the field even if it's uphill in every direction. As always Ben And Bonnie you have the best games. No complaints and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next one.

Refs thank you.

And thank you for the tankers on both side.

Havokrooster, it was a pleasure running missions for you. I Look forward to running with you some more.

Werewolf, way to bring it. You gave a good fight and it was close.

All the German players, Section8, Rogue Cell, Shadow Group, Epic Unit, RATS, Brute Force, Lost Boys thank you for making it a fight to complete any mission. You all played great and I look forward to playing with you or against you at the next one.

Thumper lets try to get to the next one on time. LOL. See you at the next one as well.

All the Americans what can I say we won. I really enjoyed playing along you all and I hope to again soon. Southern Discomfort, Capitol Offense, Port City Militia, B-Squad, Hard Heads, Lincoln Assasins, Lethal Paintball,
Disciples, ODX, Bravo-2-Zero It was great running with you. I know myself and Team Omni Force really enjoyed the play and fellowship.

The sportsmanship was great and it was great seeing a lot of the A5OGers out there too. Thank you for dropping bye and saying hey.

Havokrooster, why did every mission we get have to be at the opposite end of the field and uphill both ways. LOL.

We had a great time and looking forward to the next MPP Game.

Play safe and have fun,
Omnicool
Team Omni Force

Ha! I remember that push. I was on the German side I made it up to ya'lls base boundaries then got shot in the barrel. I turned around expecting to see the rest of the germans behind me. Nope! save for a few on my team, the rest fell back! Heck, we had the base under attack and they ran back!

Oh well good time.

Nice. When reality TV finds scenario paintball there'll be no looking back.

Add these great Havok quotes to the book of generaling:

{To be used in a loud voice}

Get on the field and shoot your markers... {repeat 3 times}

Tag it and go {repeat twice}

Well, we gave 'em hades, Germans.

Pre-game: I was out in the field with the Army from 15 April to 11 May and on the day of my return, I get a call from Benny asking me to lead the Germans. I had no phone or internet out in the field, so I really needed to catch up on my bills, family, etc. I also needed more than a week before the game to get ready, if I was going to general ANY game. I didn't even know if I was going to the game wih Rogue Cell yet. I turned down the offer. Three days goes by, I get caught up on life and ecide to attend with my team. I am getting very perturbed that no general for the Germans has stepped up and on Tuesday, I'm glaring at my computer monitor, pissed off that 4 days before the battle, there is no organization. I knew it was going to be a mess. I really didn't want to fight an unorganized, chaotic battle all weekend and waste my time and money because some schmuck got a "Hey you!" the morning of the game. So I decided to be the schmuck and volunteered my services Tuesday evening. I think I called or emailed every scenario team between Richmond and Atlanta in the span of four hours. It was hard getting the German side lined up because Benny doesn't release the team list until 24-48 hours before the game. That, of course, makes creating a battle plan impossible and totlly removes the promotion aspect of the game by not allowing teams to visit forums and talk smack to each other. Nevertheless, I managed to lock in a few key teams by landing Thumper from Section 8 and Otto from Krisis as my XOs, Shadow Group by asking T-Wolf to be my radio operator, and Rogue Cell simply by team affiliation. That gave me a very good foundation of players to work with from the start.

Day 1: Some very last minute team switching had occured the night before, but I think everyone was happy in the end, which is the whole point. I had asked for B-Squad, but they wanted to play American, so I recieved the RATS. I was also told by Ben that Lethal Paintball was German, but when I tried to approach them about some planning issues, they said they were American and Brute Force had taken their place. I also couldn't find Lincoln's Assassins and then arned later that they had been taken from me and moved to the Americans. All in all, it worked out in the end and everyone got to play for the side they wanted, at the cost of a major headache.

By setting the captain's brief at 0730, I was able to get most of my field commanders up to speed in time to remove the leadership issues and allow them enough time to concentrate on getting personal gear ready. I know the early hour sucked for some of the team captains, but I do everything for a reason. Ben allowed us 30 minutes to pre-deploy forces before the horn at 1200, which really gave me a chance to entrench and firm up my plan. That was a great idea. I immediately jumped my CP from Alpha to Hamburger Hill in an effort to confuse the Americans, remove my staff from the meat grinder that always occurs at Alpha, and give my radios a better chance at reaching the whole field from higher ground. Alpha was basically reduced to a dead zone for the whole game instead of a hotly-contested command bunker. I heard that some Americans were dancing on the Alpha bunkers in triumph, thinking they blew my CP. Whoops...

...of course, that doesn't mean that my CP was safe and sound. Capital Offense harried me all day from the rear, swooping in and crushing me from Apache or Duckett several times. I had no dedicated base defense all day, preferring to keep my teams on the front running missions. I was worth 100 points if killed in the CP and only 50 outside, so every time the paint started to fly, I was diving outside and scooping up my marker to return fire while Otto and T-Wolf bravely hunkered down over the radios and kept in touch with the troops. The first time TCO attacked, they were able to escape unscathed. Shame on me. The second time, I was able to fight them off, personally zapping Fonzy and Dave just as Rogue Cell charged in out of nowhere and saved me from the rest. The third time, I was Werewolf mad and called in an artillery strike on my own CP and the occupying TCO as I glared up the hill from my reinsertion point down at Alpha. I thnk it was only a half hit, but Dave called his oher half out as well and vacated the area, allowing me to set up shop again. Good on ya, TCO.

My mission teams were brilliant all day. Recon-1 and Section 8 did a bang up job on Sim City, scoring big points and then answering my call on other key tasks. Rogue Cell snooped and pooped in all the dark corners, pulling points out of thin air just as I thought they had been overrun. Shadow Group stayed together as a monster team and provided key defense at the pivot point of Alpha and Rex. The RATS made everything look easy, churning out points effortlessly. Brute Force and EPIC Unit helped fill in vital holes. By the end of Day 1, the Germans were down by a mere 300 points.

The Night: Despite losing 75% of my glorious army to pillows and restaurants, I managed to keep most of Recon-1 and Brute Force, all of Shadow Group and the RATS, and a few walk-ons. A handful of Section 8 guys also showed up about halfway through the night. The German Army consisted of around 25-30 players. I was told that the Americans had a similar force and not to worry, but when my CP at Hamburger Hill was blown the fourth time by a Southern Discomfort/Port City Militia patrol totalling 32 players (the base ref and I counted them after they were credited with the kill and told to evacuate the area), I knew some paperwork may have been slightly off somewhere.

Regardless, I adapted and tried my best to keep the Americans at bay. I broke Shadow Group into two elements led by John Brigman and Chip Munna and they performed fabulously. The RATS again ceaselessly pulled missions in like they had just arrived at the field. Recon-1 fought valiantly in the face of repatedly bad odds to pull base security. Brute Force learned the hard way that playing a night game at CDWC is a learning experience and decided to pitch in with Recon-1. Bodybag and The Hun stayed by my side at the CP through the some of the worst moonlit firefights I have ever experienced. The late-arriving Section 8 guys offered to return the favor to the Americans, so I cut them loose and they did. The game ended at midnight and Ben informed me that I had managed to lead the Germans to a 200 point lead.

Day 2: I had retured to my hotel room at 0100 and after laying there for two hours with locked up sinuses and my roommate snoring his ask off, I decided to sleep in the truck. I sat tere for an hour staring at the bright security lights and then decided to just give up and go eat at IHOP. So with no sleep and armed with my infamous Wolfman attitude, I show up way early to do battle again on Sunday morning. This gives me enought time to roust The Hun and get him to drive onto the field to help me jump the CP from Hamburger Hill to Duckett. I did this in the hopes of giving my beleaguered and exhausted base defenders a more defensible site and to confuse TCO just enough to give me some breathing space for an hour. It must have worked, because I didn't see them for half the day until a dead Dave Thompson just happened to walk down the road towards Alpha, past my CP. I think his direct quote was "Is that Wolf? I hate you." I told him the feeling was mutual.

In fact, my CP was probed only once and on top of that, only blown a single time by a lone Lethal Paintball member that somehow managed to sneak down the tapeline from Holiday and past my perimeter security. He exploded out of the trees without warning a mere twenty feet from my tent, on a direct course for a bunker tag on my command tent and a 100-point assassination on me. Greenman, my base ref, didn't even see him. I dove through the CLOSED zipper door, tearing one side of the tent open with a crash just as the American player tripped over a root and crashed headfirst into the other side, crushing all of my tables and chairs and scattering radios, maps, and Axis & Allies game pieces everywhere (I was using them to track Axis and Allied troop movements on my table map. Stop laughing at me.) He got the 50-point kill on me because I called myself out for NOT HAVING A MASK ON when I dove out of the tent. Recon-1 quickly avenged me and the whole encounter was over in fifteen seconds. We breathlessly laughed about the whole thing and I slapped him on the back.

I decided to play zone offense/defense and put Section 8 over by Alpha and Hamburger to deal with threats and missions. Splitting Shadow Group into two fire teams worked brilliantly the night before, so I did it again; I placed Chip's team at Alpha and John-John's team at Sim City. Rogue Cell and the RATS, along with Brute Force and EPIC Unit covered the left by the power lines and Holiday. It worked fairly well and allowed me to react quickly to missions and reports of enemy activity.

Final Battle: The Final Battle kicked off with no fanfare other than a final mission card being issued. It told me to capture and hold Rex, Alpha, Holiday, Sim City, and Hamburger Hill (I think). There was no way in hades I wasoing to be able to spread my forces out that thinly, so I just ordered Rogue Cell, Recon-1, and the RATS to capture Holiday. I told Section 8 and both Shadow Group elements to attack Rex from Alpha, which was our spawn point and always in German control. I knew Sim City was a lost cause and just ignored it. I was hoping that by putting enough pressure on Rex would pull most of the American forces out of Sim City to cover their own spawn point. This would eliminate an attack from Sim City down through Apache and Hamburger Hill.

I think we managed to hold on to Alpha and Hamburger by the horn, but I know we did not have Sim City and failed to take Rex. I have no idea what happened out at Holiday. At the start of the battle, I shut down my CP, grabbed my marker and headed to the front to lead the charge on Rex. It was a glorious and emotional end to the war. I'm proud of my Germans, who fought so hard in the face of difficult odds. Most of teams were hand-selected and performed beautifully, just as I knew they would. Congratulations to the Americans on your win.
See ya'll on the boards.

Special Thanks:
Ferg and LeeAnn = for putting up with my insanity and pointing the finger at Ben, from whom I got my answers.
Ben and Bonnie = for taking me in stride, answering all my crazy questions, and thinking of me to run your game in the first place.
Bill "Greenman" Ford = You are by far, the best base ref I have ever had. Very good job.
Ted "The Hun" Pelech & Recon-1 = for being my wingman and following my orders as tirelessly as I have followed yours in the past.
Steve "Severe" Reeves & The RATS = for your loyalty both on and off the field.
John "Thumper" Edens & Section 8 = for your support, your advise, and your invaluable radio equipment.
Chip Munna, John-John Bergman & Shadow Group = for answering the call from afar and being the backbone of my army.
EPIC Unit, Brute Force, The Jackals, and the rest of the German Army = for giving me your all and giving them hades.

Last but not least, to Rogue Cell for just simply being my boys and having my back.

Werewolf out.
