It has come to my attention that there might be some players out there trying to purchase player cards under false or different names. I hope this is not the case and I would be really disappointed if I found this to be true.
So let me explain something. I know there are a lot of you that feel the player cards are just another way for the SPPL to fleece you of every dollar you have while leaving you homeless on a street curb. But that is not the case. In fact, the player cards are there for your protection (Rookie and Masters teams) because without them we have no way to make sure players are in the right division. Without these cards and the identification system they insure the better players would play down (sand bag) for easy victories all while destroy this league. So take pride in what we are tying to do and please don't knowingly let someone cheat or lie to play down a division.
Just in case there are people who still want to try it; let me tell you what we are doing to prevent this.
Each player must show a valid drivers license at the event, the picture and name on that DL must match his player card. We are also checking player cards in the dead box and on the field. IF you are found to have someone elses ID that doesn't match your name then your entire team will be disqualified from the event without a refund, banned from ever playing in the SPPL and and I will also do a nice right up in Recon Magazine with names and photos of the offenders.
Please don't be the guy that got caught with the wrong player card. This would be very embarrassing for you and your team and everyone will know what kind of a smuck you are.
