Survey

Hey all,

This is a bit of a survey I'd like to have concerning MOUT play. What info would you like to obtain pre-game play on MOUT sites? Maps, building dimensions, distance between structures, etc. etc. etc.

Please post up (especially if you've attended MOUT games in the past)

Thanks!

James Roberts

Well Blanding appears to be giving dates out way in advance now. Of course the 3 day holiday weekends are pretty much a given when it comes to military use during those weekends.

I would like to see other MOUT sites take notice and follow suit espeically the Alabama MOUT site you have had games at. Seems the dates were never confirmed till the last minute and it made it difficult for the teams to schedule.

I agree with Junkie,

dont really matter about the Buildings and all because when you are there you can figure that out.

Just the final Dates for Scheduling purpose would be great.....

Hey James, I played both Dea vs Cartel in 07, somethings we would be interested to know is exact boundry dimensions with a map available before the game, if underground tunnels are in play with a map of such and were they lead to, If any catering is present in advance with a knowledge of the menu if available, and definant on the dates and time. I loved playing responder city and would love to go back.

After five shots at Responder City, I'd say the map layout was quite useful. And in addition to what has already been said, the normal logistics and supply information; ie paint, air/CO2 supply, camping/lodging information and catering.

I know that showing the sides in an accurate manner in advance can be difficult, but posting them ASAP as teams/players register would make it easier for those coming it to make a quicker choice should they want to align with friends. This would also encourage players to register early to guarantee placement. The longer they wait, the less chance they have at getting their choice, even using a cutoff date for side preference.

Can't wait to see what you're cooking up, James!

Here are the things that are important to me:
  1. Accurate directions to the event
  2. Be able to completely pre-register [i.e. when I get there all I need to do is pick up packet, paint and air card] I do not like having to fill out more paperwork or pay more money at the event because something was not disclosed
  3. List of facilities at or near the event [i.e. hotels, restaurants, camping…etc]
  4. Know what side you are on before the event with updates regularly as the sides grow. To me half the fun is the trash talking and planning before an event. An added benefit for this is the free advertising you’ll get from all the talk on the forums.
  5. Maps
  6. Last but not least DATES/TIMES as soon as possible for scheduling. In the past you and other promoters have lost out because I scheduled something else by the time we hear dates on events

Looks like it all has been covered. Since I only attended one Mout, I have not learned the building lay out well. I personaly like the maps, but would like to see interior maps also if they are available. I understand that these are military instalations and some things like pictures can be viewed as "spying" for lack of a better word. We are a tight community and are loyal Americans with a high percentage of military backgrounds, so I think interior prints would be in safe hands, but do understand if that would not be an option. What ever benefits our troops is and will remain tops on the list. Our play there is just gravy in my mind, I hope we will have the opportunity to play at these types of instilations for years to come. It is too bad there is not one at Anniston now, the place was great. Although it was a let down, thanks for the early notification that the event was not going to happen. I was in the MOOOOOOD to play there again this year.
