Vietnam Partol 2008

The Third Annual Vietnam Patrol will be held on April 26th at CDP, Taylorsville, NC.

Command Decisions Paintball and Tactical Diversion Presents
Vietnam Patrol 2008: Khe Sanh

The Battle of Khe Sanh was conducted in northwestern Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), between 21 January and 8 April 1968 during the Vietnam War. The combatants were elements of the United States (U.S.) III Marine Amphibious Force (III MAF) and two to three division-size elements of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN).

The American command in Saigon initially believed that combat operations around Khe Sanh during the summer of 1967 were just part of a series of minor North Vietnamese offensives in the border regions. That appraisal was altered when it was discovered that PAVN was moving major forces into the area during the fall and winter. A build-up of Marine forces took place and actions around Khe Sanh commenced when the Marine base was isolated. During a series of desperate actions that lasted 77 days, Khe Sanh Combat Base (KSCB) and the hilltop outposts around it were under constant North Vietnamese ground and artillery attacks.

In March 1968, an overland relief expedition (Operation Pegasus) was launched be a combined Marine/Army/South Vietnamese task force that eventually broke through to the Marines at Khe Sanh. The battle itself was a tactical victory for the Marines, but the strategic implications of the battle still remain unclear.

The objective f the scenario is to capture and maintain control of territory at specific points during the day, as well as successfully completing missions issued by the command for both sides. Leadership positions are available for the above-mentioned major units. Please call CD Paintball for details if you are interested in leading troops. There are perks!

Mark your calendars now, and register early. Registration is $35 on game day, and $25 to pre register. Pre Registration will be open until April 25th! Plus there is a $5 discount for all current or former US veterans.
This is a field pant only event. Paint will be supplied by our friends at Archon Paintball and prices will start at $40 a case and up. The game will start prompty at 10:30 and end at 5:30 with the prize drawing at 6:00. The field will open at 8:00 am. Food will be sold by Bethlehem Baptist Youth Group from noon until 2:00.

For registration information call Command Decisions Wargames Center at (828) 495-4155. You may register onlie with a credit card at Scenario Supply or register in person at the field.

A little thread bumping.

Okay, it is around one month until game time. VP is quickly becoming the premier one day event in NC. The sides are already dividing up nicely.

I am actually going to dust my gear off and play this one.

I,d love to go back up to FERG's and get in on this game, but driving 12 hour round trip for a one day game takes all the fun out of it. I'll have to wait until the Platoon Leader game later this year, but for anyone who hasn't been to CD it's a must, the field is great and Ferg and the staff are very nice people.

Less then two weeks to go for VP 2008.

Registration is going great. The NVA numbers are going well abouve average but we can deffinetly stand more players for the US Marine forces. Sign on with the US and help us defend freedom from the Communist invaders from the north!!!

The Carolina Sabers will be there in force! We have 12 strong coming! We are planning on NVA side with the rest of the guys from our area (E.P.I.C. Unit, and Callsign Boxer).
Does anyone know if Dixie Rangers are going to attend? I had a blast playing with those guys at Adventure Beach a few weekends ago.
Hope to see everyone there!

See everyone there

Well, the Sabers will be there late this afternoon camping so hope to see everyone there. I think they are switching us to the Marine side since they need to balance the teams. If you are on the Marine side and are going to be at the field camping tonight, come by and hang out. Just look for the dark gray Chevy 2500 Pick-up.
