IMO, definitely the promoter... It doesn't matter how good the field is or how good the price is, if the game is completely unorganized and things are not run properly..

I don't think one specific thing is most important. I have been to scenarios where the field layout was great, but the missions were repetitive and boring. Others where the paint was crap. Some where you couldn't get the refs to do their job, etc. All of these things can lead to a bad experience.
With that said a good promoter will take care of the details by ensuring he/she only runs scenarios at good fields, with good paint, and ensure the missions are creative and challenging.

YOu & I think alike on this. + like Deepfreeze said if you trust the promoter to only do scenarios at good fields, with good paint, and ensure the missions are creative and challenging.

You can usely tell when the promotors and the field have a good repor. The whole event runs very smoothly. I don't think that one thing is more inportant then aonther. The biggest thing that I have seen is that both field onwers and promotors need to have a good working repor. Creativity and a willingness to explor new thing have to come into play also. Doing the same old thing over and over is very boring.

I would think that a good field will in time represent and sell itself to a good promoter.

that is so not a fair question. I think all three are crucial. I went for field because a great field is somehting that i really appreciate.

I am gonna have to go with the promoter because ,as said earlier,a good promoter is gonna be on a good field and set up a great game. While price is important as long as it is on a good field, promoter, and great story I will pay it.
