I think if it is wrote into the game where everyone know about it it's one thing but under a lot of conditions it could start a riot, but what do I know I believe you should be able to capture a tank and use it as long as the tanker crew runs it and you use your own ammo
. After all fellow players we are at war in these games or is it war games ? What would you do if your life depended on the way you played this game, or the decisions you made put you players in harms way , would you play the same type of game or would it now matter who had the badge to get into your camp. Thoughts?

I personally don't like games with spies for the reason mentioned above: the game devolves into a boring "base defense" game. Spies are my least favorite part of scenario ball.
I was part of the decision to use the found player cards. At the time we were pretty far behind and we were looking for an edge to make up ground. It seemed like a clever ploy and the guys who did it had a great time with it. In fact, I think many of those involved have a pretty funny memory to share at the next alcohol outing with paintball buddies. That having been said, most teams and players end up playing in the gray areas of the rules at one time or another so let's not get too worked up about this. Going in with the found player cards was an interesting tactic. Apparently one that isn't often used. It was tried and it worked. But the producer ruled it illegal and the points didn't count. I'm okay with that. From my point of view, I'm glad Ben made a ruling on this and I'm glad it's been made against the rules.

Finding a card and using it really isn't fair sport, however, using a "suicide" player to go to the entry guard and distracting him/her/it while you position for the coup de grace is challenging!
If your going to play a "military" type scenario, then put in all aspects of it: Spy's, base defense, missions, etc... . A sign of a good general and his/her/it's staff is one that can manage all those aspects and keep everyone happy. As for spy's keep it strictly controlled. During one game I General'ed, I put a bounty on the "spy" in my camp to anyone that found him, humorously, the spy was turned in by his own father! (humble opinion of a bald headed guy)

I know I've played at games where the generals met prior to the game and exchanged their spy cards that come with their general's book. It helps take the heat off during night play.
Im not saying that generals who opt not to do this are asking for it - but I does suggest they want to play the whole game - spys and all. Spys can be pretty sneeky and downright clever. If its not in the rules - its OK until ruled againt. Sounds like Ben handled this one well as did the players involved. Ide bet if someone published a "grey area book" it would be pretty heavy. I might recognize a few of the culprits : Mother, Gill, Brian, Viper, Hammer and White Feather. Steers is certainly a candidate - but he stands on the shoulders of giants. Check his pants for explosives - at all times.. lol. hey - who ordered the pizza? ![]()
