hahaha. Those are some great new pics from SCBrian. I wanted to add that I think I diagnosed my incredibly irritable arm rashes as poison oak. I did some research today and I originally thought it was poison ivy put the "puss pustules" are continuing to ooze so I have declared it a bad case of oak.
I spent a lot of time in the deep brush that weekend and I knew I would have been lucky if I didn't get anything.

Hope your wife is not letting you get too close she can get it from you as long as you are pustulating (is that a real word?)

Sounds like a real word to me. hahahaha. She really hasn't touched me since I've been back. I have it on my gut now also. From what I understand, I'll have it for at least a month. It sucks!

Yup you got poison oak bad. My wife had flair-ups for a couple of months. From what my wife's Doctor says it gets in your blood stream and can travel almost anywhere until you body finally processes it and gets rid of it. I'm glad it does not bother me

Oh Joy! I guess I failed to prepare properly. Last time down I only had a few fire ant bites (what! You got 37 bites?). I must have been laying in the stuff this time. If we ever go back I'm gonna need to prepare for it.

My wife has some type of oily lotion you put on before you go in the woods and it helps prevent you from getting poison oak/ivy. You have to make sure you do not touch your eyes though because it does not neutralize the poison just keeps it away from the skin. You shower off with cool water after leaving the woods and you are good. Do not wash your clothes with other clothes after getting into poison oak/ivy because the "poison" is not water soluable and you can contaminate other things in the wash. I guess this little tid bit might be a little late though. |
