Ion: How light can you make it?

Ok I see that a stock Ion is about 2lbs. Now some of the replacement parts are quoting that they can reduce the weight of the gun by a few ounces to almost 0.5lbs. In all pratciality how light can you make an Ion? NewDesignz is stating some things on thier web sight that leads me to believe that if I put on their mods it may reduce the weight to about 1lbs. True or hype?

you might be able to get it down to 1.5 lbs.. and god the stock ion weights WAY more then 2 lbs.

Aluminum body.
Al - Frame
Al - fire chamber/Breach
Al feed neck

Deadly Wind HP bolt.

Unless you spend some serious $$ on getting stuff specially made out of TI or Tungsten to be SUPER light Then i doubt you will get below 1.5 lbs. Heaviest parts are the Body, frame, breech and chamber.

You also have a fixed weight with a Regulator.

According to the Smart Parts specs for the Ion XE it weighs only 1lbs 15oz. That is probably without the barrel and reg.

I misread the NewDesignz site and they can reduce the weight by about 50 GRAMS. I misread the weights of the firing can and bolt as that was ho much re reduced the weight by not that was the weight of the item. My oops.
