Ion problems

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I just bought a half year old Ion with a freak barrel, q-lok feedneck, qevs etc. It won't turn on anymore, and when I did get it to turn on this morning, I couldn't get the eyes to work. Also, it broke paint like every third shot. Also, the battery is getting hot, like it's sending current back. Anyone got any idea why this is happening? Jimmy at Ballbusters says I need a new board. What do y'all think?

Look at your battery connector. There are two kinds. 1st gen is rectangular and completely sealed. 2nd gen is more rounded and has a top that can be opened with a diode inside. Chances are you have the first gen, and you inadvertently touched the 9V terminals to the connector and fried the diode on the board. All it takes is a quick touch to do the damage. Only solution is to replace the entire board/solenoid assy. Might be a good time to consider a Blackheart, Virtue or APE.

Wish I had better news, Bro.

This is a well known issue with Smart Parts. Call their Tech Support dept and ask if they have any swap out program where you don't have to buy another board. Good luck!

Guys. Please read his post. The "tell" is that the battery is heating up. The diode on the main board is shorted out.
