Sp8
I have an SP8, ion, and an epiphany, all are basicaly the same internaly, only different shells. I had a blast at the Mout in Sept., at one point I was on a roof besides someone (DEA) shooting with an Apex barrel. It was my first time to see one in action, loved the way it shot so straight over a long distance. I have tried to do some research on the Apex and saw that you can get them for the ions. I would like to have one for the SP8, think it would look and shoot great, my question is do they make them in a length long enough for me to use one on my SP8? I have both the short and long barrel set-ups for it and would like to have the Apex for the longer sniper set-up. I have tried to get an answer on other sites with no response, can someone here answer it, or at least tell me where to go to get an answer?

The only way to use an Apex on an SP-8 is to remove the front barrel shroud. Would look rather strange... But H11PB is correct. There's no conventional way to use one.

I know ClayDirt of SC Roadkill (Black PBjunkie Shirt) was running his APEX on his cocker on Saturday -- an oldschool black body -- likely working it from "the Condos" area as we held the Cartel from sweeping the north tape - and as we desperately tried to take the Disco. (FUGLY!) He loned it to Big Bear on Sunday for his cocker (silver evolution body). Apex's are nice - but paint hungry as it takes a bit to dial them in. MOUT games are very APEX friendly due to all of the extreme longball shots that present themselves -- especially from the roof tops. big bear ![]()

actually you can moditfy some barrels into an apex. palmers sells a clamp that you can put on the end of a barrel and then clamp the apex "can" around and use. you can only use a barrel that has no kind of "flash" protector. it has to just look like a boring straight barrel.
Apex to 13/16 or Palmer adapter [PPSP982] - $29.99 : Palmers Pursuit Shop!, Where Custom Still Means Something (link to palmers) ![]() or if you can remove the flash gaurds circled in this picture (i don't know if they are threaded or not) there is another way to attach the apex end to another barrel i call it the sports tape mod. just go buy some the the 1" athletic tape from wal*mart you roll it around the end of your barrel about a 1/4" thick or who ever thick you want it (it being a little thicker will make it so you can't turn it but all i use mine for is long shots so i am happy) and then put the "can" onto it. and the "can" can come off the barrel, it comes on by takeing the 4 small phillips head screws out of the bottom.

Thanks for all the input guys, I will have to think about the mods you came up with. Might just leave the SP-8 stock as far as the barrel goes and eventually get one for my cocker. That was him Thumper, we were on the condo roof, me and Sahara (both with Carolina Riot), we put quite a few out that were trying to go around the hill.

The APEX is a fun barrel to play with. I did use it on Sat. Afternoon in Anninston. If you can hold your gun steady, follow up shots are easy to dial in. If you have a lot of pop and shoot action, then you may have trouble. I was able to curve some shots in a few windows and over the ant mounds to make life interesting for some of the Cartel. Keep an eye on ebay, I found a guy that sells them with no reserve and I ended up with it for about $50 shipped. Good Luck!!

Thanks, I was beside you when you put a few out by the hills, had the big sp8 of course. It is a bit heavy but does have a military look to it. I look forward to being on your side in the future.

Ab-so-freakin-loot-ly!! I had a blast. My neighbor has a sp8 and is in the process of adding a q-loader to it. He will be at Command Decisions in a few weeks. I think he used it at the last game up there and had a blast. Hope to see you there.

That was me up on the condos roof w/ the black sniper II pump gun when you guys arrived (I remember the SP8) -- I think SaharaJunkee joined us shortly thereafter, then Sonic.. I bailed out short thereafter and swept out the little buildings to our north. Grendel was camped out in the little building just north of ant hill giving the cartel something to shoot at.
Try as I might my Sniper II would barely reach the ant hill from the condo's roof -- and Sahara's evo cocker had about the same result. Sonic dumped a few hoppers w/ his vintage L7 MAG with about the same result (but he did get 2-3). But the apex reached it and then some. Im not sure I would want one for woodsball - but those things are pretty sweet for MOUT games and big open places.
