The Hammerhead Battlestix actually looks pretty good on the Ion. And in side by side comparisons that I've done with my Freak barrel, it was basically identicle in accuracy.

-I once smashed an opponent's face with a hammer, then used his skull for my cocoa puffs.. but then i was like, what the hell am i doing?!? this shit is nasty, so i dumped it out and had fruity pebbles instead.

i just purchased a clamping feed neck (dye), the t-tech L7 bolt and a rampage board. i was considering the tadao but the rampage has a much easier to use membrane pad and it still has a bunch of setting options. i got the board with a membrane and membrane adapter for 35$. (cheap)from a friend. he got this board in a sweepstakes so he sold it to me for cheap. it was still in the package. still deciding on a barrel. looked at opsgear 18 interceptor and might consider it but it might be a little loud. any reviews on that barrel accepted

Running the lowest pressure you can will give you a slightly quiter shot, with all your upgrades.

Buy a Cp reg and lower your dwell. That quieted mine down significantly.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, if you want quiet, go with an L7 bolt and a QEV. The combo enables you to lower your pressure and dwell to insane levels. I have installed a bunch of them in customers and friends guns and they have all be quite satisfied. On average, I have been able to run the operating pressure at 140 psi and drop the dwell to anywhere from 10 to 15. Quiet and efficient. We shoot at an old door on our shop chrono range and I know I have it right when I can hear the paintball slap as it breaks over the noise the gun/barrel makes when firing. As far as regs go, CP's are great regs. I've had quite a few. But there is really no reason to change the ION stock reg unless you just want to spend $$$. Keep it lubricated and cleaned and it is as rock solid and consistent as any CP. Think about it... That reg is on all of the SP guns now, including the NXT Shocker. I know this thread has been going on for a few weeks, now. Hope you find what you want.

A silencer is the key. IF I was to make one, I would want to talk to someone how has one. One that works so well you can't here it 10 ft away. I will be at the Santa vs frosty game. Perhaps you could get the information there from someone that knows how to make one that is virtually silent. Look for Flying Monkeys of Doom. There will be someone there who knows. Ask one of them, they can direct you to the "mad scientist". By the way, it must be permanently attached to your gun, ATF frowns on silencers that can be removed and placed on actual firearms. I would estimate your cost at a barrel of your choice(impulse threaded), and about 10$.
