RE: Walk-ons

I'm pretty sure I've been shot by a walk-on while "wheels up" in a chopper in every Thumper event in which I've "ridden" a chopper. Just take a minute to explain what the chopper is, as most people who missed the safety briefing have no idea why 7 dudes are walking around all huddled together carrying a PVC pipe with orange rope dangling off it.

Im thinking dedicated ref/pilot (Dracula?) who stays on call via radio. Two choppers can fly in formation w/ 1 ref - The ref/pilot should keep the bird dogs at bay and the "prop" safe and fun for all.

As it stands now, choppers cant shoot or be shot - nerf, paintball or otherwise - until you land that is.

Once you take a knee, the passengers and you are live targets.

Note that the SECOND pic is the only one in which the chopper is flying in the correct direction. However, there is no pilot. The pilot holds the open end of the pvc pipe, and CANNOT LEAVE THE CHOPPER.

In the past there have been real problems with 6-man chopper teams rolling out... but with no pilot.
