scenario bunker tags FAQS and ??
Bunker Tags is a rule TT uses during recball that allows an attacking player to hand tag a small building or bunker eliminating all players in the building or behind the bunker. This safety oriented rule is designed to help prevent close quarters shots. It doesnt work on The Tower or bases.
That said, we generally havent been using bunker tags during scenario games. I dont believe PBC, MPP, Wayne's Works or LCP use anything similar. The technique commonly used during scenarios is doing "run past and shoot" or "barrel tags" or asking for a surrender. As a ref I have allowed some players to bunker tag other players in near hopeless situations during scenarios. The locals in particular prefer this method over close quarters stuff - and refs always get some freedom when on location and safety is a concern. Mike - Its time we come up with a bit of clarity of "Are bunker tags allowed during TT scenarios". Veteran scenario players and experiences refs - please chime in. And what is the safest way to handle this issue. My gut says "NO BUNKER TAGS (just to keep things simple,) but a ref on site may allow exceptions when young or novice players are involved." Lets hear it..

In my opinion I say take em out the old fasion way, chuck a gernade in there, kinda runis the experence when someone runs up and taps a bunker and all of a sudden you (or whoever elese is in there with you) are out.

Truthfully, while I like bunker tag rules in principle, they require a ref on the spot to enforce. In a large game like this, there likely won't be enough refs around during this game to uniformly enforce the rule. In the same vein, I really don't like barrel tag rules because I fear that people will injure someone with a hard barrel or a direct contact shot. But, most fields allow them so I go along with it. Also, refs always have the descretion to call any player out for any reason, including what would be a bunker tag or barrel tag situation. But, extreme judgment must be exercised. Even a player who is hopelessly outnumbered might want the option to take one or two of the enemy with him. Generally speaking, I would suggest not calling someone out in a hopeless situation unless they are young, obviously newbies or showing some signs of fear. If in doubt, remind the person they can call themselves out at any time.

I'd rather be shot than get bunker tagged.
If everyone out here is over 10 and we're all chronoed at 280, a decently close shot isn't going to kill anyone. I would hope that our older players would notice the people that are 10-11 and not straight up bunker them anyway. |

Iv been to quite a few scenarios at TT, I like for Scenarios to be as realistic as possible. Bunker Tags take all of the Effort and Fight out of a conflict. Its unrealistic to have one man, running, take out a tower of around 20 troops. However, I can imagine if I were ever in the position to use it i would want the option

well heres my 2 cents!!
i have used bunker tags in several of my games and is a steady rule at one of the local feilds here . the way we do them is simple the attacker can not shoot once they come within 20 feet of the bunker and must touch the side of said bunker but can be fired upon!. by doing such it kills 1 person( usally first player ref comes 2) then the player must retreat back the same 20 feet and may repeat the process as much as possible. but yes this does need the atteion of a ref but if there a heavy fire fight there should be a ref there anyways . as far as skill if you can pull this off it is a matter of skill but we do not allow 1 tag to wipe out a whole base . and they dont touch a person just the base. and its only done on buildings not small bunkers!

Yes, but if there is a huge battle raging it would be easy to lose track of a couple of people. If there are two dozen troops held up in a Tower fighting three dozen enemies its hard to prevent some1 from running up.
