And on the pedestal these words appear:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

I dunno, I agree that you can hide and shoto someone, but I don't really think of that as sniping. In most militaries if you're a sniper you have a different high powered weapon that is made for shooting longer distances at better accuracy. In paintball you can't do that, seeing as they all shoot the same distance.

Now, if you were persay "someone who hides under ghillie, and waits until someone comes close" or otherwise sneaky, maybe.... but "sniper". nahh
picture this: your mission is to secure the spinners in a thick forest. Your 5 man team fans out into a skirmish line and cautious approaches. There in the middle of your objective is an obvious target with his back turned. Your middle breaks cover and advances on the objective. The target retreats and you follow grouping up some as your flanks pull into the objective. The target turns and opens up. Your forces take cover and return fire. And you hear out, out, out, out and alas you are alone. As you turn to see what happened, the bush you were hiding behind moves and takes you prisoner.

Call it what you want.

Snipers and flankers are an integral part of any team. The skillfull use of bait to determine the battlefield is an essential element of any coordinated attack.

Patient sleepers lying in wait in a thick grove are a pain.

Cunning warriors who can move through the forest unseen and with no sound are deadly.

Laurel, Aerion, Sean, DJ, Wayne (PBC), OBEWAN (PBC), Joey - oh my.
(PS: even Steers is getting decently cunning)

Personally, I would not persue Aerion into the thickets if I were you. I dont. Its best to have him come to you and hope for a stalemate.

And if you see me doing something obvious - it probably is.

Splinter Cell?

Anyways, if I follow any of you into the Charlie territory (aka forest) it will be with a 15 bps rope.

And if said sniper shoots 15 right back? Most of the people (most) that play sniper typically are the A-5 and Milsim crowd.

Most of the snipers would tell you that if you want to be a sniper a Phantom or a SNiper II is not the way to go, purely because of the importance on the first shot. If you are using something electric your trigger pull has far less impact on the gun causing your second shot not only to be far more accurate but MUCH closer to the first shot in time.

By the time that Mr. A-5 sniper man has 15 shots out of his barrel, I'll be through my hopper and through one pod, and mr. a-5 sniper man will be covered in paint...

and in my limited experience at triggertyme i would know that that would be considered gross over shooting, and i know the production looks down on that sort of behaviour. Triggertyme prides itself in running scenario games that are Newbie friendly, and by that i mean 15 is the max, but 6 is the average BPS area. So good job with your hopper and a pod with what only takes a few balls.
