If you have trouble figuring out the story, ask for help. There is plenty of content in these 400+ posts to a get into it.

If you dont want to get into the story or dig into the role the short version is this: The US and Montegrnards are allied against the VC. No brain work required.

For those if you wanting to take things to the next level beyond "mindless funfilled shooting at anything that moves" and get into the role playuing playing aspect of scenario ball - The US Special Forces is working to win the hearts and minds of the local Vietnamease people in the global fight against communist agression. This game will try and provide a fun filled way for this "winning of hearts and minds" to take place and let the forces battle it out.
I wonder who long it took some people to firgure that out(just messing with ya'll).Hints the storyline. Also they could go to the TT website to read a quick version of the story line.

So like...could I bring a friend in that won't be playing, but will just be hanging out with us? He knows he'll get shot, and doesn't care, he just wants to chill.

Don't take this for the truth, I don't have anything to do with organizing anything. He will probably have to pay the $15 entry fee, but I don't see why he couldn't 'just hang out with [you].' But why wouldn't he want a gun and mask, i mean they are free. He could borrow like 100 balls, I mean it is something!!

He has no money...he probably won't be able to afford the field fee.

Like I say, maybe he could watch. Don't take what I say as the absolute truth, just mearly what I think may be correct. I wouldn't mind him watching, but some may have problems with it.

I think if you PM Thumper and ask if he can just hang out with you than tht may be alright. But it would be Ideal for him to go around with you on the Feild, Im sure thumper would lend him a mask if you asked nicly :()

I don't mind spectators on the field so long as they wear an orange vest and stay out of the way. That means he can't "hang out with you" per se. If he were to hang around you, he would interfere with play and confuse the opponents. In some circumstances, one extra combatant (in this case not a real combatant) might negatively affect a strategy. He might also be accused of spying and so forth.

If he wants to hang out, perhaps you can convince him to pony up the field fees and share a little paint with him. If he wants to experience paintball, the best way is to jump in with guns a'blazin'.

And on the pedestal these words appear:

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away
.
