last saturday recap..

I guess we capped out at around 40 players saturday with the JAPs and ACE on one side and some guys from Lexington SC on the other. And while these events are designed as training days, these two teams were serious about winning the war..

My comments follow:

#1) We had an incident where players got pretty upset about accuasations of cheating. All things were quickly handled by the refs on site - but as all veteran players know, the tempers that mount as the adrenalyn runs low can cause emotions to overcome good sportsmanship. If you see a problem, get a ref on the ref channel, and let it go. When we (the refs) investigate rarely is there a problem - or it's minor. If you find yourself getting upset about things, take a break, cool down and and rehydrate. Yall keep in mind paintball is a game, and sportmanship is the only true measure of the players.

#2) Radios, maps and watches - In the events I produce, I love writing missions that are scored at a place, at a time - or at lots of places at a time. If you want to be successful running missions at my games - knowing exactly what time it is, and exactly where you need to be, and communicatiing w/ your allies is pretty important. Scenario training days are a great time to learn how to exercise these elements.

#3) The tanks and LAWs - John-John and I tore around TT's "roads" and trails popping off shots from the safety of our makeshift tank and I have to say it worked pretty well. Many players found out staying near the roads can quickly become perilous - and the best defenses against tanks are a good set of legs.. As I think of using tanks in the future, Im adding a tall wire whip antannae to tie a tape to to denote the tanks alliance. My appologies for any confusion lack of this apparatus may have caused. I think ACE brought 2 LAWS and he did fire on me a few times. The 2" nerf things are pretty cool.
Tanks are a great tool to "stir" things up - especially near no mans.
Anyone thinking of making tanks for TT should plan on familiarizing themselves w/ the trails etc during non-game days. They are hairy, holey, twisty and obscure - especially when your vision is partially obscured and people at shooting at you. Im also planning on cleaning up some trails and could use some help.

Thanks all for coming.

LB: Nice fighting against you in the last hours.

ANIMAL : you da man - Im glad you are on my side.

SNEAKYSNAKE: Thanks for coming up. It was fun as always. Next time you are up, lets grab some BBQ after and jaw some.

PATRIC: Thanks for the help reffing. not bad.

DRAXXUS: I was shooting the whitebox pink fill, red shell and shooting tacks. I love DRAXXUS.

ACE : nice job w/ the JAPs. Let me know when you are coming out, and lets pair up for some recball.

Thumper as usual I enjoyed saturday. These training days are damn good fun. The japs are building something for your tank as we speak. There will be more rockets at the next one. Keep up the good work, it makes it a lot more fun.
