It would be really nice to have a pump only scenario.

After one week with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom of a man.

We would like to do one but that will have to come once we get established with players and teams and can work it out with a PB Field. There are a lot of players who have never owned a pump and it will take a little while to educate players to the fun of pump only play.

Super 61 - The Battle of Mogadishu

Old School Paintball Production's
*SUPER 61* - The Battle of Mogadishu (part 1 in a 3 part series)

WHEN - Saturday April 9th 2005 from 10am-8pm. Registration begins at 8:00am - **Pre-Regitration starts Jan 1st, 2005**

WHERE - TriggerTyme Paintball, Columbia South Carolina (80ac. hardwood - rolling hills) (where Combat USA started 1987, and Vanguard Paintball was 1990-2001)

FORMAT - 10 Hour Mass Game - In keeping with the early mass games of paintball, we will use a large wooded field with 10 flag stations, each worth 10 points, and one worth 50 points. These are scored on the hour. Play is continuous as the eliminated players are allowed to reinsert as they mass five allies. No spies, tanks, medics, or special cards.

NEW: Hopperball only after 5pm - so bring your pumps if you've got'um.
NEW: 5 man minimum insertion rule, but no insertion clock.

see www.oldschoolpaintball.net for more info and registration jazz.

The 5 man reinsertion rule is nice. Just curious, are you using it after playing the d-day game?

Yes we stole it. It worked well during D-Day and the players we talked to liked it. No sense re-inventing the wheel.

Hats off

Brain - in comparing the player attitudes, field refs, and management of Paintball Charleston and D-Day .vs. Wayne's games of late - you guys are professionals at making sure the players have good, safe fun.

I did not see one wiper at D-Day. not one.

I did not hear one player cuss or get upset. not one.

I did not see any kid get overshot. not one.

In short - the landing at Omaha Beach on D-Day 2004 was the most polite, family friendly event in the history of modern warfare..

Grendel and I have been working on insertion ideas, and the 5 man min rule is your baby. It lets players walk back on as soon as they get ready, discourages wiping as the penalty for being eliminated is minimized.

Old School Paintball is dedicated to employing the best practices that encourage family friendly play (with a slight old school flavor) - and the 5 man min rule has to be the best new one I have seen - I assume this was your idea..

Can you provide us some background info..

PLAYERS: this works just so long as you stay plugged to your base. If you cut the corner and slam down the tape line (ala wayne's dog pin) the rule breaks down.

Muchas gracias-
