Brain - in comparing the player attitudes, field refs, and management of Paintball Charleston and D-Day .vs. Wayne's games of late - you guys are professionals at making sure the players have good, safe fun.
I did not see one wiper at D-Day. not one.
I did not hear one player cuss or get upset. not one.
I did not see any kid get overshot. not one.
In short - the landing at Omaha Beach on D-Day 2004 was the most polite, family friendly event in the history of modern warfare..
Grendel and I have been working on insertion ideas, and the 5 man min rule is your baby. It lets players walk back on as soon as they get ready, discourages wiping as the penalty for being eliminated is minimized.
Old School Paintball is dedicated to employing the best practices that encourage family friendly play (with a slight old school flavor) - and the 5 man min rule has to be the best new one I have seen - I assume this was your idea..
Can you provide us some background info..
PLAYERS: this works just so long as you stay plugged to your base. If you cut the corner and slam down the tape line (ala wayne's dog pin) the rule breaks down.
