Cool Super 61 - The Battle for Mogadishu

see www.oldschoolpaintball.net for details - but the short version is this:

We changed the name to avoid law suits and we will use the historical account for the structure of the game

I'm still in discussion w/ TriggerTyme to get a few dates for the first game. And thank you for wanting to hype the event, but please dont yet. I will be back with accurate info ASAP and PBJUNKIE will be the launch point for the announcement.!!

Thanks again,

Well there's no question I'm going. Whether I'm playing or not is another story.

Angry Super 61 - insertion question and crazy question#2

hey guys - grendel and I had a little off-line chat about insertions.

would you like open insertions w/ 5 man minimum group to insert like D-day, walking plugged to the base, then ref on hand at base for unplug.

or on the half hour with ref escort to base?

I like the 5 man min rule, but I would like to hear some suggestions..

--------------------------------------------------

crazy question #2:

what about this idea : "we ask you to please consider using your pump guns and pistols as your main weapon before 2pm - open class after 2pm", just to see how the play goes..

rsvp - Thumper

i like the 5 man squads alot. The only problem i could see is if the insertion isint where they want to be. It would be interesting seeing scenario teams mixed up with regular walk ons ect... The pistol pump idea..sounds good, but how many people own both pump/pistol and semi? Why not do a special "pump sniper" even so that people can be officially called "snipers" like OK D-Day has ect... just my input though.

It is a possibility and we'll think about it. The only problem though as I see it, is we are wanting to keep rules to the minimum, when you add special rules it just complicates the game. Our whole idea is to just have a very basic "Old School" mass game of controlling flag stations with a basic theme. This game will not be near as elaborate PBC's D-Day game or most any other scenario put on today. We want to provide a basic structure and rules then allow the individual teams/players to use their own imaginations to come up with tactics and stratagies to win. A lot of times the elaborate scenarios tend to favor one side over the other, given the story line and special rules and we want to eliminate that.

pump question - part 2

As a request by the producers:

"Gentlemen, we request you gear back before 2:00pm to allow the newer players a chance to get their feet wet. pumps and pistols if you've got'um. hopper ball if you dont. - After 2, open class."

rsvp..

I personally like the pump idea. At D-Day I noticed ALLOT of pumps. The time slots for pumps and open is also interesting.

To add my one cent idea is an open challenge, say ten paces or a small area roped off on the field where two players can enter match pumps and see who’s the best.
