For ALL of the Rangers...
I just wanted to say thanks to the Rangers for the AMAZING amount of effort (and paint) that was expended this weekend. We were down in numbers by more than a 2:1 margin, and we were still able to keep up on total points and missions completed. I honestly think Thumper and Robbie would have added the “walk-ons” to our side if they had realized that we were hanging on by a thread all day Saturday. Not only did the Mogs have a huge advantage in the number of veteran scenario players, they received fresh reinforcements from the walk ons that just happened to drive out to play rec ball for the day. It’s hard to believe that we held as much territory as we did most of the time. EVERY Ranger out there ran at 100% or better for the entire event, and we could never ask for more.
I was a little concerned about our slim numbers during the PM hours, but after the effort we all gave Saturday afternoon; plenty of our guys were just "all used up". Even against these odds, we never had a Ranger give up. Most of the PM missions were run by solo players, or possibly groups of 2-4, but that was all we had to work with. If the Mogs would have really known how thin we were, for most of the game, they would have just organized a push to run us off the field. There were a few times it wouldn’t have been very hard. We kept the Mogs out of our base, and still managed to run missions in country. We also had 3 back to back volunteer (basically suicide) solo missions to the Mog base for a base overrun and assignation attempt, all within a 1 hour time period. When the missions came out, a Ranger was there to do what was needed. This kept us in the game, and gave us the chance to pull off the upset Sunday morning The worst part of being a general is trying to select teams or individuals for post game awards. If I had the option of giving MVP and Valor to every player, I would! Same for MVT. There were a whole bunch of unsung heroes that I didn’t get to know at all, but everyone worked together, and we almost pulled out what could have been the best scenario upset of all time. CamoJester… Thanks for the help before the games. To the four guys who jumped on every chopper mission that came around (and usually got lit up from start to finish, even while in transit)… Props!!! Thanks to Brian (soon to earn a nickname) Odgers and Deep Freeze for running the show while I enjoyed some playing time. Props to Sniper-1 for making back to back recon runs and running multiple missions all night long. Thanks to Bobbio (and the rest of the Black Hearts) for taking the lead early Sunday morning and getting us at least 3 consecutive missions. Thanks to the 3 teenagers with rentals who had never played a scenario before (and had only played TT once before) who volunteered to run a late night mission back to shanty town with no experience, no lights, no firepower, no working knowledge of the area, and no shortage of “balls”. This was the most impressive effort that I have ever seen a team put out for an event. After 18 years of play (as of last month), I can honestly say I have never seen a batch of folks come together better or run harder than we did this weekend. So take a seat, open a cold beverage of your choice, and savor the knowledge that we were the best we could possibly be for this event… Hold the glass high, say a toast of respect for your fellow Rangers and a job well done. We have earned it. |

more..
Well said Skeeter sir, (Sir Skeeter?)
Yall know I dealt you a nasty hand - lots of experience, but slim on players. When we started the safety briefing at 11:00am the count was like 220 mogs to 190 rangers (or so), and I told the one of the refs who took over registration for me to put the rest of the walk ons (who would show up after the briefing) on the Mogs side, I was guessing 50 or so would show. uh, well - oops - around another 140 signed up after the briefing - 90 secenario ballers and 50 recballers who just walk up saying "what going on" - and I guess most of these may have been put with the Mogs. Ill dig through the paperwork and see what the actual numbers were. The story line delt the US Rangers and Delta troops a very similar deck of cards in tha actual battle, stretching the abilities of a better trained, better equipped force beyond their abilities - and the movie documented that struggle. Gentlemen, my complements on a stellar effort and by far the best fire fights Ive ever seen. Skeeter, in hind site, had I known a so many of the Rangers had to leave late Saturday I would have given you team Romeo Charlie and/or team Ball Crushers Saturday night to help replace the troops that had to go -- 'cause I felt your loss Sunday around 11:00am. I just thought yall were just trapped in your base for an hour of so. I didnt know you were down to 80 (+/-) players on the field for the final battles. And there were some exceptional individual Ranger efforts I saw. The Great Zen (Space Mice) and Ben Bowens (Ball Busters) were absolutely everywhere, all the time. I expected this from Zen, but Ben really put in extra efforts far beyond expectations, allways outnumbered at least 5 to 1 if not 35 to 1, just doing what needed to be done. Did yall know at 9:59am on Sunday the score was all tied up? In the storyline, this would be 1 minute before Super 64 went down.. Pretty cool huh? But then the Mogs woke up,.... in force I might add...! My thanks to PBC for showing up and supporting TT.

Back "in the day" being down 5-1 wouldn't have bothered me, I would just smile, work the seam, and destroy. Now a days.... I work the seam, destroy a few and then get worked over pretty hard by RT tippmanns and DM4's. The firepower that was out there was devastating. The skill level was very close to even but the numbers tilted it badly. We did work hard and I give props to all the rangers but it was "job too hard". I really want to say good job to all the guys we brought from PBC shooting pumps and showing true skills. many an "out" after a single shot I heard!
Anyway, good game to all! |

You know we couldn't have done all this without our leaders. Man Skeeter, Brian, DeepFreez you guys ROCK! Usualy whene a base is being attacked oh about every min. or 2 and the General is haveing to watch his own back and orginaize the troopes it useualy dosn't work, but this time it did. I liked the part where we had to go reinforce wadigaly and you told myself and 2 outher guys to go up there, that was sooo cool I have never seen radio comunication work so well. It was like we all had training in that field or something :icon16: . Allso that was cool how y'all and Sarge used the Honnor Code to do your missions at night since the mission comunication wasn't working. Again way to go, way to go

SKEETER, THUMPER, AND ALL RANGERS! - THANKS FOR AN AWESOME GAME WITH THRILL AND EXCITEMENT!
For those who were at base in the night mission, you know, when I ran into (on accident) those 3 snipers lying on the ground! That was the scariest freaking moment for me. Under the preassure on both sides, that would have been a nasty gun fight at close range!!!!! Every body did awesome, I loved playing with BlackHearts and Splinter Cell! Ya'll were fun! Thumper, DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN!!!!!! BREAK ANOTHER RECORD, I DON'T CARE IF IT'S FREE OR NOT!!!!!
