I know we've moved on in this subject but Aerion is dead right!

the real skill is hitting them once or being good enough to get them with a short burst any one who was at triggertyme a couple saturdays ago when those Rangers were there, I got owned by Thumper - lol. The cool thing was that he made it fun - not scary and rough. he got me with one paintball and a bunkertag. And we laughed about it later. Do people just like to waste Money? Unloading paint like crazy?

Someone please explain to me in words of two syllables or less why anyone needs to spray paint that fast?

If I had my way about it, the limit would be 6 balls per second! That's plenty fast enough!!

to get rid of this subject of debate:

People throw a massive ammount of paint because people cheat. In the tournaments wipping is very common and the only way to make sure that wiping cant happen is to bonus ball the guy to hell and back so that way he CANT wipe.

if you cant control your marker well enough to make single shots, turn the modes off.

There was a guy this past sunday in Ga walking through the parking lot beside the head ref and I as we were talking. I guess he bumped the trigger cause 5 balles left the barrel, the first removing his bag, and the remaining 4 straifing the wall 6 feet from my head.

Leave these markers at home. They are too dangerous for recball.
(I could go on).

I may not return to that field because of this and similar incidences of uncontroled / uncontrolable markers and a few of the attitutes that went with them. I know Ill never take my 8yr old, even after he turns 10.

Ben Toricelli spoke at the closing ceremonies about how the technology has severely damaged tourney ball, and how he sees a similar pattern becoming the norm in scenario ball. He closed with "its up to the players to police themselves".
Was the described incident the reason Ben spoke about technology at the end of the scenario or were there more than just one incident?

Man, being in the parking lot without eye protection on could have led to a serious incident. I bet you were steaming....

What happens when the habbit carries onto a recball field?
What happens when the player is a novice? or your kid?

It is beyond time to remind everyone this is a game and it is about having fun. Scenario games have NO cash prizes, and NO prizes for the army that wins. It is all for fun. Come to play to have fun.

As a player, Im sad to see the tourney side of this sport turning away from fun. It is the reason I quit tourney ball a decade ago.

As a scenario event producer - I keep a very close eye on teams that play "tourney style" during recball and scenario ball. The owner and managers at TriggerTyme are also very aware of the issues of tourney teams mixing with recball and novice players.

We play for fun around here. The youngest, most novice player is THE most important player, for he or she is the future of the sport. Respect that, and you are on the right path.

enough said. no flame intended.

Agree

I understand that some times a speedball player might have to shoot a guy 2 times just so the ref caqn catch him, but some people do over do it. Ex: DerDer's videos like 300 FPS. We where at Ball Busters last weekend and a girl we where playing with got shot up like crazy all becouse the player had a temper and "couldn't hear her call herself out", I can understand that becouse his marker was screeming from the outher side of the field. Most Rec Ball players wont do this , rec ball can only be played by people who have a sense of morality since it is some what kind of easy to cheet in them thar woods. This is why speedball sum what scares me

I play with a simple spyder xtra, and ocassionally with a mongoose 2. The spyder is my favorite it doesn't have any electro parts at all. I play with my spyder and shoot maybe 3 balls a second and I kill alot of the guys carrying the angels, protos, and shockers. I don't have a problem with the people that carry those type of markers, people on my team carry a few of them, but you have to exercise control.

I've never understood why people want to waste so much paint just to take one guy out? At the local outlaw field i play at, most of the guys there will only use full auto when playing. I've been lit up more than once playin with them! Most of the time they don't mean too, but when your throwing that much paint at someone there going to get 5 or 6 bonus balls. In my opinion, There is no skill in just pointing your marker an spraying at them until you get them out! What happened to making your shots count? Going for the " one shot, one kill!" Instead its been replaced with, Pack as much paint as ya can on yourself then hit the field an spray an pray. I only shoot semi an use a Tac-cap most of the time. I totally agree with one post on here an say no more then 6 bps!!!

bps..

someone post a vote..

If you were to impose a restriction on rate of fire for scenario ball what would it be:

unlimited
15bps
10 bps
6bps
depends on who you are shooting at

I agree to alot of the things that are said here but I was down at GA this weekend and I was one of the was shooting a proto. I was checked about four times with the ref saying that I was ramping. Anybody can ask any of my teammates and they will tell you that I am shooting a stock gun I just have fast fingers I do shoot alot of paint but that is my roll of the team. For the reason of I lay down alot of cover fire. I try not to over shoot people because I have been over shoot before and I do not like it at all. But on the same hand nine out of ten the ones that say that they have gotten over shoot is the ones that wipe paint!!!!!!!! To me that is just as bad as the ones that are rapping and over shooting people. The mean thing is lets all keep it clean and just play good clean paintball!!!!!! and if you cant play by the rules just stay home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
