Why only 24 hours?
Why is this year's scenario game only 24 hours in length? For the past few years that I've been playing in them, they've always been 48 hours long (which I prefer). Thanks for making it a BYOP game, by the way! :icon_bigg
Anyway, I was just curious as to why the change had been made. |

a 48 hour game have an INSANE ammount of logistcal work. Could you immagine having to figure out some 200 diff. mission, who would reff where, would the refs have shifts, where would people camp and eat, will we provide food. its a ton of work. Not only that, from 9-12, then from 9-5 should be enough paintball for one weekend :P

24 hours..
here are a few reasons:
24 hour games are the norm. Ive played in over 40 in 12 different places in 6 states. Players gripe if they are shorter - especially those driving in from out of state. 48 hour games sound like a bit much, and I dont remember any. Lots of teams are coming from out or town, and may have to take friday off, (or at least part it) Fewer could come if the game were longer. If you play all satuday, run all missions saturday night, make it up on time sunday and run all missions on sunday and still want more, come see me. You can help prep the field for teh next game, clean up after, or something. We do need help. Most of the buildings and bunkers were built by volunteers "wanting more" Someone has to staff the thing, and most staffers max out at 24 hours Hope this helps.

48 hour games
Thanks for the info, but, if I remember correctly, for the last two years, the scenario games in October have been weekend-long games, ending at noon on Sunday. Last year was King Arthur vs. Mordred, and the year before that was the Vietnam War scenario--and I greatly enjoyed both of them! :icon_bigg
I certainly thought they were weekend-long events. Maybe I just have a bad memory. At any rate, I'd like to join in the game next month, but I don't have a team. Is that a requirement for this game? What would be the proper route for me to take, when registering? Thanks! |

the skinnies
join the skinnies -- it is a walk on group, with Ben Toricelli heading it up.
past events at TT - usually start at noon on saturday and end at noon on sunday. Lots of guys come in between noon adn dark on friday to set up camp, walk the field, get air and paint, and passes and hang out. mail me the waiver with The Skinnies written on the top. john edens 141 hickory creek tr blythewood sc 29016 Quote:
