D-Day Tank Rule Changes - 2009
I don't know if they're finalized, but it looks like D-Day is yet again changing their tank rules. Citing safety concerns, they are now saying that you can't park and will have to follow routes again. I for one have never heard of a stationary or parked tank running somebody over.
The tank orientation process is a complete SNAFU already and the only rewarding aspect of hauling a tank to the field for the event was having the freedom to actually support infantry actions with armor. It looks like my D-Day tanker career will be short lived because I don't see a reason to haul a tank 10 hours through the Ozarks to do laps around Caen, Colleville and the Airfield. For those of you that go to D-Day, what are the rest of your guys' thoughts?

Their rules were already blatantly retarded to begin with.

Not sure where you're based out of (from looking at Hellions website) but you'll enjoy a good tank game if you make it to BearClaw (hour south of Nashville) for a MPP game. We're bringing 3 tanks for the October game, Havoks planning to hit a tree with his, and Ass1nation with be there with the one from DDay that runs on beer. And always some others. When we have enough of 'em we rumble on 35 acres by ourselves without crunchies. Otherwise go where you want and send the dead ones to the box smoking. No forms, no targets and orientation is with the producer (you boys know the rules? {heads nod} Ok play clean, safe and have fun). And to quote Doc from BTTF: Where we're going there aren't any roads....

It sort of affects you, but since you were classified as a "plane", not really.
They're proposing to not allowing tanks to stop and pull off the road and I believe, limit them to certain routes as well as directions. MrWizard - we're based out of Chicago. I know had talked to a few of your team mates at CPX Sports at the Living Legends game last spring. TN isn't that far away and I've been considering a road trip down there, but not until spring. I'd also love to make Fulda Gap, but gas is way too much to consider the haul. Regardless, the D-Day orientation sucked - considering we were waiting by the stage Friday morning in the rain.

Hell BUCK, As well as the Refs enforced the rules for tanks, (not blocking airplanes, like the JU-52 at Coleville, and AT's maintaining the 10' rule), you should be able to park for MOST OF THE DAY, without to much fear of being PENALIZED.
