JesterTLS's armor

Hey guys, here are a few shots from the work we did Sunday to get it ready for D-Day. Still have to mount the frontal armor, add a roof, and a few little odds and ends. First and only game to date was Vietnam Patrol up at Command Decisions. Had our butts handed to us most of the day.

The base vehicle: 2007 Kawasaki Mule 3010 Trans 4x4.
Pic with back seat folded up.

Early construction shot.

And from Sunday:

My Turret Monkey doing some upgrades:

Armament: DM4, DM5, and Flat Lined A5 for anti personnel. Anti Tank A5 with Empire barrel kit, hpa, and red dot site. Air cannon is coming, just havent got that far yet.

Looking good.. Looks like a pretty large gap between the turret and the base of the tank. Netting maybe?

Looking quite nice. I see what Rich is talking about. But I believe you make mention of still having to mount the frontal armor.

I recommend you stay away from how the panzerwagon covered their gaps.. Those guys took hits inside from markers and rockets... They had minimal protection:

I will tell you from experience: If there is a gap they will find it. A LOT! My gunner got hit through a knot hole 1/8" bigger than a paintball. And in the gunners turret no one can hear you scream.....

Yeah I figure a lucky shot or so may get through there. But I'm not the one in the turret. lol We may end up putting netting on the inside some how. But for now, its gonna have to stay that way, I'm about out of net.

Got it repainted and cleaned up a bit. Roof installed over the driver and passenger section. Frontal armor mounted, but I lack two small side pieces on the frontal piece. That is tomorrows to do list. I just did little odds and ends today. Mounted the flag stand and antenna mount. Put in some pod holders for my passenger gunner. Screwed up the roof hatch and fixed that. Painted the inside. Where was a breeze when I needed it??? And then put the screening in the back window. Then got attacked by the skeeters and called it quits.

Okay finished pics with the frontal armor on. The turret is in the shed as I didnt have anyone to help me toss it up there.

Talking about gaps, the one there at the bottom of the door is massive. Deffinetly have to get that one fixed. But again, it wont be till after D-Day. I really waited too long to be doing all this.

With this shot you can really see how I have the turret box done. It just slides up into the bed of the Mule. That is why it looks funky, it isnt conected to the side armor. Plus we messed up on the track the turrets wheels ride in. We kinda rednecked that up a bit, but since we are, I figure its alright. The side plates are on the outside of the bed/roll cage but the turret box is inside. The issue is I have to be able to strip it down to the base vehicle. Which I have to do after we get back to have it serviced. I didnt do any modifications the the Mule its self. Nothing welded on or cut off. It cost too much and has too good of a resale value to justify doing that, and I'm still paying for it. I did take the tail gate off, but I bolts right on so no biggie there.
