Very nice work!
The machine gun to the right of the main gun (looking from inside the turret out); is that faux. The hole to the left of the main gun; is that a gun port? Again, very clean lines. I shall enjoy “meeting” this beast in battle |

Almost looks like an old Chevy Chevette or maybe Citation as the base... No, more like Chevette. C'Mon, builder! Give us some info! Your handiwork is almost flawless. Almost you say? I might consider removing the psychomagnetic dumbastic attractor device from the rear, as it may deliver a nasty burn to doofuses who get too close... Of course, that's if it is "live"...

While the owner of this tank is just learning how to use the forums he sent me this doc pertaining to his tank:
"Junkie posted photos recently of the paintball tank I made this past spring before I registered with pbjunkie. For those who are interested, the following is offered. My 15 yr. old son went to a 24 hr. scenario at Paintball Charleston last November. It was the battle of Tobruk 1942. When he returned, he was excited about the dozen tanks that were there and asked me if I could make a tank. I found a 1979 Mazda GLC in the paper and the owner took $190 for it. I removed the interior (but saved the drivers seat), doors, hatchback, all glass and cut out the roof with a sheet metal blade in a reciprocating saw. The body I made a rectangle out of 2x4s which rests on the bumpers. The body is made from 3/8 plywood which was thrown out from the remodeled house across the street. The rear and side doors are removed by pulling the hinge pins out and there are covers over the lights which can be folded down. The driver’s plates also fold down like a jeep windshield. The long glacis plate is hinged back to rest on the edge of the driver’s plate. This allows the hood to be opened to access the engine. The turret, after removing the cupola, can be removed and placed in the back of the vehicle. There are rear view mirrors, a clear plexiglass windshield can be placed in front of the driver and there is a seat belt. The idea was that the tank could be made street legal and driven to the paintball field. Turret and gun The turret rests on seven 2” casters. Six horizontal resin wheels keep it in the turret hole. Tim showed me the guns on two tanks that he made. I copied the basic idea of these guns. A 20 oz. CO2 tank is attached by an accordion hose to a beer brewing valve. There is also a valve at the neck of the tank. The beer brewing valve can be set from 0 to 160 psi. It is connected to a low pressure reservoir (LPR) made from 2” iron pipe. The LPR is about 16 “ long. There are two popoff safety valves, one built into the back of the brewing valve and one connected below it set at 115 psi. The LPR is connected to a 1” Rainbird irrigation valve activated by three 9 volt batteries wired to a trigger button on a pistol grip. The irrigation valve is connected to the chamber of the gun right in front of the breech. The breech is a 2” ball valve with the opening lever re-positioned to be parallel to the gun when closed, transverse when open. This required some strap steel and welding. The gun barrel is PVC. The Rainbird valve and part of the breech and LPR are all enclosed in a box with male trunions on the ends. These fit into female trunions attached to the turret. A nerf football is placed in the breech and pushed past the irrigation valve by a short ramrod. The breech is closed. The tank valve is opened until the LPR reaches its set pressure, say, 80 psi. The tank valve is then closed. The gun is laid on target through the middle window of the turret front and the trigger pressed. The irrigation valve opens and the 80 psi of CO2 is dumped from the LPR into the chamber behind the round. Finishing The idler and road wheels are 5 gal plastic pail lids. The drive sprocket is cut from plywood with painted teeth. All vision ports are covered with smoked plexiglass cut from a large sheet thrown out by my son’s school. The cupola, which was not attached in the photos, is covered with screen. The tank is painted with Walmart water based flat exterior. It is a generic grey and olive camo. The national insignia are sheetmetal and can be switched. American, Soviet, Japanese British and German. The shovels were found on the side of the road. The broken handles replaced with PVC painted wood color and the muffler and spare track are just for show. My son and I plan to use the tank this November at Paintball Charleston for the Battle of Leyte scenario this November. If you have any questions, I am registered on pbjunkie as username jmerli."

Only one word comes to mind, after I figure out what a glacis plate and a trunion are; and that is OUTSTANDING! Your eye for detail is reflected in your description, as well as your finished product. I gotta think you're an engineer or one Hell of a bodyman!

jmerli Welcome to the forum and my hats off to what appears to be a well thought out and constructed tank and it sounds like you did it without breaking the bank. I am, and I'm sure others are looking forward to seeing it in action.
