End of week 1 update

MrWizards hair is smoking! I spent 4 hours trying to get a drive wheel off. Wheel pullers, sledge hammers, knocker loose and torch were all useless.

So I pulled another tranny and mounted it up. left the old hub on the old tranny. Glad I have 4 lawn tractors for parts. New tires, a ride in the back of the pick up to the car wash, and some human factors measurements with a 60" and a 77" subject. Prepped the V-twin for install after a 1 hr runout and cut the frame a bit for the main bulkhead.

Test drive of the chassis under power is due before Friday. More pics next weekend.

I might have missed it, but what kind of Vtwin are you using?

Ok, I'm about two days behind but made lots of progress this weekend.
First the chassis is done and moves on it's own power. Technically this chassis is a 8X4. Go figure. For those of you who get greasy enjoy these two pics. This one is the front view:

The Vtwin runs smooth and quiet. Notice its all wet from cutting donuts in the rain.

Okay the front dual steering is easy. Course I said that about Ga. Tech too. The rear worked out nice and has tons of grab. No getting away from this this one. Machined a pulley mount a bit short to center on the front transmission and bolted it on. Simple, precise, and elegant. Two shifters make for fun and a world of tearing up turf. Turning circle is still 12 feet. Here's a pic to show how the trannies mate up and shifter linkage.

Next week is the body. Turrets and all by this time next week. I'm out to prove it doesn't take 3 years to build something cool. Warpiggies? listening?

PS. Thats 2 belts you're looking at. The original runs to the new top pulley. The second runs between the two trannies.
