If any of you are interested...the German army attempted to equip their allies, namely Bulgaria and Hungary, with some medium and heavy tanks from 1943 on, since their technology and production lagged far behind Germany's. The German government turned over a number of late model Panzer IVs, Panzer V/Panthers, and a handful of Panzer VI/Tigers, in addition to Stug III, StuH 42 and Jagdpanzer assault guns. From the other articles I have read and the pictures available, Bulgaria has about 40 vehicles for sale, and is planning on giving the examples in the best shape to several museums around the world, before opening the last 22 vehicles for private sale. In the pictures I've seen, I was able to identify several StuH 42 assault guns, at least one Jadgpanzer, and a Panther V (probably A or D variant).

If only I had half a million to play with :(

Has anyone here been to the Danville Armor Museum in Virginia? I'm planning on going there soon, and then heading to the Patton Armor Museum and the Aberdeen Proving Grounds this summer.

Most of those in the article don't need much restoration. There is a show on the military channel where there restoring military hardware. It was fascinating to watch all the expertise involved in refurbishing. I wish I had the money, the last show I watched they were restoring a panther campfwagen 5 one of the rarest. The owner lived in England and said the restoration would take at minimum 400 years for all he has aquired.
