IT IS A WORN SEAR , and/or worn rear bolt.
the result is that the bolt never re-catches onto the sear, so afetr the first pull it's full-auto until you turn off the air. It gets to the magic wear point, and no longer engages.
I had this problem after modifying my A-5 R/T with the "straw mod". It made the sear bearly catch in order to cycle quicker, but the result was a worn sear. High ROF will eventually wear down the sear and it's "grab point" on the rear bolt. Both will need to be remachined or replaced. I just used a die grinder to remachine the sear back to a sharp square edge and a sharp flat catch point on the rear bolt. This is time consuming and you must be very carefully or the condition will worsen. If you are not comfortable with this just buy a new sear and rear bolt. If you call Tippmann and explain what's going on, they'll probaly ship both to you for free.

Dude,

You know I'm the A5 man. It can be one of many things. Is it a new battery? The metal trigger switch tab that fires the electronic can be slightly bent. The armature pin could need replacing. The sear, sear spring or rear bolt could need replacing. Also check the air pressure going in... If you have anymore problems I'll check it out for you. Also set your settings to default.
