It depends on the gun alot I think. I had a 98 for a couple of years without a problem. Make sure when you store it, you leave it in the UNCOCKED position. That alone can make a big difference.

Hey Omnicool I think this is the first time that I'm actually glad to have the R/T and NOT the E-grip...besides the battery thing, of course...K.I.S.S.

You might take that back when you see my son's 98C with my A-5 flatline on it. Looks pretty cool, and if you twist it you get the same Apex effects (we were actually doing that before Apex started marketing the curveball idea)
and yes it invloved some unique metal work, but same adapter as the regular 98 F/L.

I had a F/L and hated it, accuracy stunk (for me) some ppl love them and think they are great. But, most of our team uses the APEX and loves it. The think about the APEX over F/L you can do alot more curves (really tight or kinda loose curve) left, right, dive bomb. I love my apex. Just my humble opinion.

Glad to hear it the Apex is working well for you.
Personally, I use My Empire Barrel or Stiffi, but I'm still not throwing my F/L away ;-)

have you switched out the grip? just as a trouble shooting technique, start simple. swap grips with a friend, make sure that it is functional. fire your a5... if the problem is fixed- you know the error is in the grip. if not, start thinking about the seer. i would just replace rather than file or machine it down, unless you have experience in metalwork. there is a lot of good advice on this thread, just make sure you read it all and remember to start small and work your way up.
