Try a 14 or a 16 inch barrel.That might help.

I love my A-5(flatline) the sound factor is intimidating. This past weekend (OP:SeaLIon) I heard many different sounds/rate of fire of a flatline and wonder what was up with that. Some of them sounded pretty cool. Any suggestions?

I personally have 2 A-5s, both have e-grips (one is the new WAS board), one has a flatline, the other a 14" barrel. I preferred the flatline at BearClaw because of the low hanging branches, better to have a flat trajectory on the ball. With the e-grip, those baby's can throw some paint, and they are loud with a very distinct sound. |

I tried my flatline once and even though it shot further, i could not hit a barn standing inside with the door closed! I would like to use it but....
And also is which is better flatline or apex? My wife is thinking about getting me the apex for anniversery. Dont know what to say.

As most of you know by now I am 6 ft 5 and 295 lbs. I'm slow and obviously not stealthy. I wear urban camo in the woods and shoot an A-5 with a flatline for this reason, I know they can see me they should also be able to hear me. At Sealion last weekend there was a guy standing in the middle of the road shooting everything he had at me. The balls kept bouncing in front of my feet. I raised my gun and shot twice 1st one gogged him 2nd in the top of the head when he flinched. I love my flatline.

I have a flatty that i've been using for the past 2 years. This barrel really suxs unless your shooting the right paint out of it!! Ya got to use good paint! The flateline is really picky when it comes to paint. It likes small bore, non oily paint!!! Heat, marbs, evil, an if ya got to go cheap Scorch work pretty will. Also when chronoing with your Flateline. Don't just jump on field speed an start playing. Start at 260 an work your way up. Do it slowly an somewhere between 264 an 273 you'll fine your barrels "sweet spot" You'll see the ball arch down , then go back up an thravel about another 20 to 30 FT.Each flatty is a little different. Find out what speed an small bore paint yours likes....
