Thumbs up A "Blast" from the past - Tippmann 68 Special

The 68 Special was one of the first "reliable" semiautos, starting in late 1990. It made lots of clouds from the liquid CO2, but it eliminated a lot of people and threw lots of paint in a time when other semiautos spent most of their time in pieces on the field. This is a pic of myself at a field in Atlanta, when I played for "Phantom Regiment" out of Birmingham, AL., 68 Special in hand and sporting the latest in "Bushlan" camo. (1991)

you can get lucky and find a few on ebay. there is also a rogue seller who sells parts kits for them. they are heavy, loud and an air hog. but keep in mind, when i first started playing in the early 90's, this was the cutting edge marker. i once had an old team captain, my old team skeleton crew, who bought one. they were very expensive. the first rec game we played he challenged the whole team in a hunt the rabbit type game. he did well with it too. considering we were all sporting nelspot pumps.

next MPP game you're coming to shoot me a PM for a reminder and i'll bring one for you to mess around with.

I collect old tippmanns, rebuild them, play with them once and then put them on my wall of history.

My first high end marker was a pro-lit with a "sniper" barrel. I still bring it out every once and again but I have to explain it to all these "wal-mart kids" what it is.
