Help! Should I go to low pressure?
I've been having problems with my A-5 since it have been cool. I look like I'm shooting a confedy guns with all the ball breaks I've been getting. It's been so bad that I've put my gun down with a hopper full of balls and would rather try bunker tagging with no gun than have to put up with all the ball breaks.
I've used several different barrels and 4 different grades of paint and still that same problem. I'm thinking of going to the low pressure kit. Will that help enough to notice? |

I put the low pressure kit on my 98custom I use to have and I would say it was not worth the money and the amount of weight it added to the marker. If you have not always had these problems then I don't see how a low pressure kit would solve them. I would check for burrs or maybe something in the cyclone feeder not lining up right. If you've changed barrels then I'm sure you have tried different paint. Where exactly is it busting paint? In barrel, in chamber, in transistion from feeder to chamber. Cold weather (35-45 degree) should not make an A-5 bust paint unless it is ultra fragile tournament paint. Big ball or PMI premium should shoot fine. But anyway, I would have to say one vote no on the low pressure kit. Hope this helps.

It's breaking in the barrel. I haven't had this problem this bad before.

If it's breaking in the barrel and no paint is found on the bolt or in the chamber then it has to be a paint, or paint to barrel fit problem. I would try thick shell paint (PMI premium for example) and take a handful to make sure the paint will roll right through the barrel that you are using. Make sure paint is stored at room temp. and go outside and shoot it before it has a chance to get cold to see if this fixes the problem. If you've tried this already then I don't know what else could be the problem. If you have gotten all 4 grades of paint from the same place try some paint from some other location it could have something to do with the way they are storing it.
I had an identical problem at a scenario game. Every 10th shot I busted in my 98 with low pressure with the correct size freak kit. So that is why I don't think the low pressure kit will help. Mine turned out to be a bad case of paint. I know it was VERY frustrating. Good luck

Yeah its not worth the money one bit. Tippmanns actually run better on high pressure. The only thing you will notice from it is a very very very small increase in shots per tank but like I said very very little.
