Running HPA

For various reasons I need to use N2/HPA with my 98C. I tested an HPA tank on my marker with less than satisfactory results. (i.e. max velocity in the neighborhood of 250.) What do I do now?

Yes the tank was full, and no I don't know what pressure the regulator was set on.

why do you have to use nitro on your 98? low pressure nitro doesnt work very well on those guns IMO

I realize Tippmanns are made to run on C02, but a stupid, stupid field in NY (unfortunately one of the only fields i'll be playing at for awhile) only allows nitro.

And I've seen HPA kits, but I was hoping not to have to replace all of my internals.

Yeah Tippmans work well off HPA but unless you have a low pressure kit then the gun will not work well off of low pressure tanks (blue ring around the reg on the tank). If you don't plan on buying a low pressure kit which I wouldn't reccommend then make sure you use a High Pressure HPA tank (red ring around the reg on the tank) it will perform just as well as if on Co2 without the freezing. Or you can use an adjustable HPA tank but I really don't like messing with those.
