I just got a hammerhead battlestix for my tippmann 98 and love it. It is very accurate in my opinion.

i got your back on this one... never seen it, but i guess there is some obscure mod kit that allows for the retro fit of the cyclone to the 98c... not sure how thats possible... but i have heard of it.

generally speaking the flat lines are good barrells but there is a learning curve associated with them, I've had one one my 98 custom for several years, I just don't use that marker much anymore. As far as the paint...i have found Marbs. work best, followed closely by Anarchy...usually the smaller bore, premium paint has worked the best for me........just my observations

Tippman does make an after market cyclone feed for the 98. It's relatively new but they are available. They are pretty straight forward to install. A Few folks around here have gotten them and they seem happy with them.

Quieter A5

So if the high pressure nitro is as noisy as the CO2 - why not go to a low-pressure kit ? anyone tried that and did it make a difference ?

(I have been using an A5 with RT and flatline for a year and agree with all the comments about accuracy and noise.)

If you want to stay as accurate as poss, keep the pressure as high as the field will allow and test for the best paint. Once you get a good combination the best thing you can do is to stick to it IMO.

My old A-5 RT had a low-pressure kit. It didn't really make that much difference.

Changing to low pressure will not get you any noise reduction you'll notice. If you want a quiet gun A-5 ain't it.
As for accuracy y'all are right a flatline will reach out a bit farther that a straight barrel I used one for a few years, but you do give up accuracy. There is a learning curve with the flatline but they tend to be inconsistent. I have changed to a lapco 18". the little bit of distance I lost is more than mad up for with accuracy. And really how many people do you take out at the far end of your range?

^^^Exactly, by the time you actually get to max out your distance on the flatline, the ball most likely won't bust on the person. As for the cyclone feed on the 98, I was reading about it in one of my magazines.

Do you guys think that the cyclone feed hogs gas even though Tippman says it doesn't?

I don't care what ya'll say about A-5's I will always love my 98 custome forever and ever.I read that the Flatline gets goood distance and accuracy but at far distances the balls dont break. If I was you I would buy either a hammer head or my favorite the 14 inch sniper barrel from tippmann. Its up to you man.
