It increases the air flow through the valve. The two biggest problems with velocity in an A-5 using HPA is the valve, because of the air channels; And, believe it or not, the o-ring at the rear valve outer lip. If it does not seal properly at the wall of the power tube, it leaks past, dropping your air flow. If you replace your current valve with an X7 valve, it should solve that problem. The X7 valve has two additional channels milled into the side of the valve body. Tippmanns still love 800 psi for operating pressure.

Even though the A-5 and X7 are pretty much the same gun, except the X7 is more flashy in its looks.

so since the X7's flatline is more accurate you say would it work on an a-5 since they are almost identical with a few exceptions?

I don't believe I ever said that. I'd have to say that they would not, because they look totally different and the A-5's flatline probably wouldn't fit over the look upgrades of the X7.

It doesn't. Chaox appears to have gotten hold of one. Don't know how. We're a dealer and we can't get them yet. AV doesn't have then online. Maybe he's got an inside track? If so, he's a lucky guy. The barrels should essentially be the same. The only basic difference between the 98 and A-5 versions are the shroud and attaching system. From what I've seen of the X7 diagrams, the same goes for it with the exception of the shroud. It hooks in to the body with the same two pins that the stock shroud have. If Chaox has one, I'd sure love to see a pic of it if he's got a digital camera. I've seen the pics on the box, but not a "real" one.
