Whichever barrel threading goes on the A-5. That's all an X7 is..is basically an A-5 in disguise, so, A-5 threading is my final answer.

It is definitely Tippmann Pro-lite threads; more recently known as A-5 threads. The X7 is basically the same as an A-5 and uses the A-5 barrel receiver twist lock adapter. The only difference between the A-5 and X7 "drive train" is the exhaust valve itself. While the A-5 valve has two air channels on the sides, the X7 has four. This eliminates the sometimes problem with HPA tanks. Incidentally, the x7 valve will retrofit to the A-5.

Overkill? Yeah, Baby! Hope that helps.

So what "problems with HPA" do you mean? Do the extra channels drop the operating pressure? For my A-5 I had to get my HPS HP tank reset to 910psi to get any performance. At 810-850psi it wouldn't even recock!!!!!!!!!

(Okay maybe this should be a new thread??)
