Big Changes for the NPPL Professional Referee Organization

Perez is out and Rosie is in as Chuck Hendsch takes the Reigns
June 12, 2006 - The NPPL is in the process of revamping the current Professional Referee Organization (PRO). After recent events, Dan Perez will no longer be the NPPL Ultimate Judge. The NPPL wishes Dan the best in his future endeavors.
Immediate changes being made to the PRO:
1) Instead of one Ultimate Judge overseeing the entire event, there will now be six Ultimate Judges; one for each field. There will be a tower on each field where the Ultimate Judge will be stationed to make calls. Radios will be used to assist in making correct calls. All decisions will be final at the field.

2) NPPL President Chuck Hendsch will settle all disputed rules, the interpretations of the rules and make sure rules are being consistently enforced.

3) Paintball veteran Robert "Rosie" Rose has been hired to manage the referees and keep the games running on time. The NPPL is very pleased to have Rosie on board. He is widely respected for his experience, work ethics and passion for the betterment of the sport.

4) The PRO Referees will come into each event a day early for a briefing and to walk fields, learn positions, angles, and practice radio communications.

5) PRO and the NPPL will be combining these efforts to provide a totally neutral, unbiased, hard, fair, consistent world leading standard of Professional Refereeing.

Chuck Hendsch has been aggressively searching for quality refs and is in full support the current referees. Hendsch is "committed more then ever to support the NPPL referees. Refereeing is not an easy job. It is hard to consistently have 60 quality referees. By changing a few fundamental procedures and recruiting good refs such as Mike Boogolo and Kimo Schaedel, I guarantee the referees will be solid for Boston and future NPPL events."
In preparation for the NPPL Boston event, Hendsch will be hosting a Ref training class at Boston Paintball July 15 and 16th. Interested applicants should email Chuck@NPPL.tv or call (714) 536-9050 for more information.
