CFOA 2004 Season Conclusion
Saturday, October 2nd, 2004, 2:00am
Lexington, North Carolina The Carolina Field Owners Association, presented by National Paintball Supply, concluded their 2004 tournament season September 25 with a season finale event at the Paintball Spot of Rock Hill, South Carolina that drew nearly ninety, five-man rookie, novice and amateur teams. In addition to the high number of teams in attendance, the CFOA was graced with the presence of Paintball 2Xtremes Television, who filmed games and conducted interviews for upcoming episodes of their groundbreaking television show on Spike TV! Numerous vendors were on-hand for the finale including presenting sponsor National Paintball Supply, who brought their newest fifth-wheel show trailer, Paintball Kingdom's fifth wheel, a large Reactive Paintball presence where they showcased their newest products including new pants, gloves and barrel covers, the usual Paintball Central "mini-mall" with The Matrix Center, Perfecting Memories photography and even BarrelPlug.com, who attended all the way from Texas. Other sponsors who generously offered their support throughout the 2004 season include Dye, Draxxus, Diablo, Proto, VForce, Ratco, Ultimate Air Ball, Indian Creek Designs, Paintball 2Xtremes, Crossfire, Planet Eclipse, Powerlyte, DerDer Productions, Aruba Madness, Custom Sports Gear, Ronn Stern, Xtreme Sports Fulfillment, Kalibur, Airgun Designs, the Ultimate Madness, Flagpull.com, PB2X.com, Southern Paintball Concepts, Onlypaintball.com, TheLoaderShop.com, Mantis, Warpig.com, Hammerhead and Morgan Awards. For only the third time in league history, a single, head-to-head playoff game was required to determine a season title, as NewGen and TopChoicePaintball.com battled for the novice division championship. NewGen overpowered TopChoice and won the title, with the Demented Kidz taking top honors, a skid of Inferno paintballs, free entry to the PSP World Cup and several thousand dollars in prize money in the amateur division. The extremely competitive rookie division was won by the Ultimate Kids. With nearly ninety teams in attendance from states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia, the CFOA finished the 2004 season with an average of 103 teams over eight event dates, by far the largest season in CFOA paintball history. Season final standings: Amateur 1. Demented Kidz 2. Runnin' Wild 3. XSF Novice 1. NewGen 2. Top Choice 3. Mid-Knights Rookie 1. Ultimate Kids 2. CIA 3. Authority The CFOA humbly thanks its sponsors, players, vendors, field owners and staff for their invaluable assistance in making the 2004 season a great success.
