Will ruling bodies never learn! The more rules you make the more loop holes created therefore the more rules you have to make.....etc. Paintball is simple if you are shot by a paintball and it breaks on you, you are out if not you keep playing (period). End of story done simple even a lawyer could understand.
When I started judge tourneys rules were on one sheet of paper (one sided), then a pamphlet, then a small handout, then a small book,...etc. Now you have how many pages for each ruling body, tournament, field...etc. it's enough to drive me crazy. |

And here is the answer:
Concerning protective colors question. The colors orange and pink have been protected colors by the NPPL for over 5 years.
Please understand the protected colors give players a paintball color which they know will not be worn by players so that when a player shoots another player the mark will not get lost in the uniform. The original intent of the rule was to include all equipment. The rules committee just recently clarified this rule. To answer your question the rules committee is allowing pink and orange markers to be used until the end of the 2004 season. These colored markers in the 2005 season onward will not be allowed.
