The difference is you're doing it and not the marker. There is a big accuracy hit when the player rapid fires as apposed to the marker making the likelyhood of overshooting much less.

Also, as Thumper pointed out, ramping markers have a habit of firing when not intended.

And on the pedestal these words appear:

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away

Again...it's bounce, not ramping that does that. Even if markers aren't on ramping modes they'll bounce causing the marker to fire when it isn't intended to be fired. Bouncing isn't, a lot of time, controllable. Ramping is very controllable in that the marker stop shooting when the fingers stop pulling.

qtf, and i promise you, i am just as accurate pulling myself as i am ramping. either way, my marker will be shooting 15 ramping or not..and if we keep it semi..so be it:

18 > 15 anyway.

edit- mechinical bounce can happen to any gun. Tippmans, EGOs, DM's, what ever! it is actually the principal behind SP's ION ramping. Because of the technology in the guns the maker will only fire like this if the debounce is set low..like debounce 1, but this is illegal for most play.

Ben's games are respected as being " top notch" and he stand by his rule
"Semi-automatic mode only, unless specified by the field owner and game director."
-------
Im only quoting thumper on this because i have been to a few MPP games myself where Ramping was allowed- Explicitly allowed. This might have changed , but i dont know about it. And this was after the speech. Ive never been over shot badly at triggertyme and dont expect it to start now, i have no problem with ramping

This is a direct quote from Ben "We are playing WWII senario games guns didn't shoot that fast back then. When we work our way up to Vietnam or Dessert Storm then we will see about turning up the technology." So for MPP games it depends on the story line.

Which would include hand feeding paint and standing in lines and randomly shooting at each other.

Yes it did, I didn't care much for that but my son had a blast. I think it received mixed reviews.

Ben always impresses me with his decisions regarding paintball, Because i know that he takes the time to think things through in perspective of not only how it would benefit MPP games, but how it benefits and effects Paintball as a WHOLE. And Im more than glad to play by his rules, or the rules that any other paintball field sets forth in order to create a safe and fun paintball environment.

Oh and as far as the iffy triggers go, I definetly shot wilson pickett as soon as i got in our base at the rock just because i took my barrel condom off lol

The more powerful the marker, the more safety precautions should be used around it. Barrel condoms are good, but they are a failsafe. Markers should be put into safe mode or turned off when entering a staging area. I don't think ramping markers would hurt off field safety anymore than another electro set to semi.
