I had a really good time out at TT today and was really impressed with progress made in the last few weeks since I'd been there. To the staff, keep up the good work. You guys seem to really be in it for the sport.
There are tons of good things to say about TT from what I saw today, but I'd like to mention a few of the things that ticked me off a bit throughout the day.
1) People using refs as barriers.
This happened on three different occasions where somebody 'stalked' a ref in order to take cover behind them and move into difficult positions. I can't be sure if the ref was friends with the guy, or the person was just taking advantage of the situation. I yelled out a few times for the ref to check his six but I never got their attention. This was really game breaking to me and helped insert opponents into our territory on several occasions.
2) Shooting hot. Really hot.
Once again, on several occasions I was pinned down or shot by people who could have only been shooting hot. I'm no physics expert and know I cant judge by simply looking at it - but seeing the balls pepper the areas around me gave me a pretty good idea they were juiced. And the ones that landed had me doing the 'ouch ouch ouch' dance for the next 10 minutes. I've got several deep bruises which are usually awesome to bear as trophies, but at some point it could become dangerous.
I'd like to see a ref bring every player into the chrono-range when they arrive and check their speeds. I know this doesn't stop people from purposefully changing it later when nobody is looking - but it might curb the people who are doing it and don't even know it.
Finally, I'd like to say once again how fun today was and that TT is shaping up into a premium field with a premium staff. I hope to see this dedication continue well into the future!
