CO2 update
TT had a problem with CO2 fills - due to process, staff training and supply chain - to any customers that experienced any problems during March of 2006 we appologize for the hastle.
4.16.2006 : Thumper : We have taken steps in all regards and seem to have the situation in hand - the best part being a bunch of new 20oz tanks for our rentals - helping players play instead of having to return for air mid day. A full 20oz tank should last the average rec-baller at TT all day (800-1000 rounds) depending on the weather. 4.25.2006: Thumper : The rentals using 20oz tanks are helping a lot - great idea. ![]() Last edited by thumper; 04-25-2006 at 01:58 PM. |

HPA and Compressor Update
In Oct 2005 TT bought a decent 4500psi compressor just in time for Super 64 - with a pair of 3000psi quickfill stations and a pair of 4500psi quickfill stations.
And as with equipment, things need maintenance. This thread is for updated related to this service.. 4.16.06 THUMPER : The HPA compressor seems to be struggling to get the pressure up to our tanks in series above 2700 PSI - We usually keep a few full bottles of 4500 PSI Nitrogen on hand, but encourage players to use the compressor driven stations when possible. We appologize for the partial fills for our HPA customers. We are working on the problem. PM Thumper and PaintedWarrior any suggestions you have in this regard if you have had similar experience in fixing this type problem. 4.25.2006: Thumper : Reports from the field Sunday say the HPA tanks were hitting 4500psi after 3 leaks were fixed in the hoses. 7.16.2006: The compressor is down. Call field 786-4539 for updates in near future. ![]() Last edited by thumper; 07-16-2006 at 06:31 AM. |

Paint Update
Paintballs are made, stored, shipped, stored, sold, opened, shot and stored some more. Each step of the process introduced environmental concerns to the paintballs - some of which the field is responsible for - some the manufacturer and some the player.
THUMPERS TIPS to the new players: try and keep your paint bagged, and sealled to prevent moisture causing the balls to swell. Also keep your paint in the box and in the shade out of direct sunlight as this will soften the shell. If you are going to carry paint on your person, get a pack and pods to help protect the paint from dammage. We play a lot of 3 to 5 game sets before returning to the compound. An 18 can softside cooler works well to carry paint, drinks and paper-towels for these extended sets. Wal-mart and Target carry many varieties for $15 to $25. For the regular players - barrell kits are a must as TT is a field paint only place, and we are hopping around between brands ect trying to find a decent line. A barrel kit with varying sized backs is a great assett for improving shot to shot consistancy. We understand the problems with odd sized paint buys, wimpy brittle paint, thick shelled wont break paint and we do work hard to provide a good rec ball paint for you. This thread will hold updates. If you have a comment about the paint, send THUMPER and PAINTEDWARRIOR comments so we may better serve you. 4.16.06 THUMPER : OK people, as a pump player I know a bit about paint since making up for it in volume is not an option. And Im tickled with the Blue/Blue VL paint we got in and have had on hand since 4.8.06 - It breaks well, no breaks in my marker and im holding a nice 6" pattern at 120' with my sniper II + .682 14" kaner and Kyles sniper II w/ .683 12" hammer head. I didnt see any problems or hear any complains about this paint at the field. 4.16.06 THUMPER : Attention PUMP players and closedbolt guys: I asked Robbie and he agreed to get us some premium paint in as an alternative. Expect it to cost a bit more. I assured him "if you get some better paint in, I know the pump and auto****erer guys will buy it. Expect it to cost a bit more. We asked for "something like Chronic or Marbilizers" - what we get is yet to be seen, but he did agree to "get in a few cases and see if it sells." Kyle and I both have been educating him on why most players prefer a .687 ish (medium bore paint) - since all barrel kits and one piece barrels do well in this range. But the blue VL paint I shot today did great. Its a bit small, but a lot better than anything ive seen in the last 6 months. 4.25.06 - the Blue/Blue VL stuff is still shooing pretty good. Last batch measures smaller than .682 -- Grendel has them rolling out his .679 freak -- Robbie got in some Red Shell, Pink fill stuff from testing (brand unknown) that Gman reported FAIR - The search for a consistant medium bore field paint continues. 4.28.06 This past saturday we got a few cases of paint in from Draxxus - including the following:
I personally field tested 3 of the 5 with the following report: My setup: The Magic 8 Ball 2K1 Sniper II w/ WGP kaner set w/ 14" tip, unireg throwing 350psi at the ball on CO2, CCM pump, WGP Black Magic bolt, stock valve and Tasco PDPII red dot. 277fps - 50+ days of play with this rig, 750 days with this type rig. ![]() Blaze - deadly consistant. a perfect .684bore. Lots of pick offs w/ a pink/orange shell and a hot pink fill. I definitely want MORE of this stuff. 8" pattern at 120' - balls broke on everything I hit. I love the fill. MORE PLEASE. Recball : a .689 bore, - decent field paint. Solid red Shell w/ thin Orange fill - I shot 200 rounds holding an 18" pattern at 120' - a few bouncers. Ide recommend trying a different shell - the fill was great. Midnight : a .684 bore - purple shell, light blue fill - I was pretty disappointed w/ the midnight. I shot a case or two 6 months ago that shot much better. It could just be this batch. 18" pattern at 120'. a few bouncers, but not many. Ide recommend trying a different shell/fill combination. I didnt shoot the Hell fire - but reports from LB "I didnt know paint could shoot this good" - and we sold out before I even got to try some. (Ive never seen LB play so effectively. He was using his regulated Sniper II -- I think ANS genX II w/ Lapco stainless barrel) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ![]() Last edited by thumper; 04-30-2006 at 08:04 AM. |

What is the situation with the HPA fill up stations? This appears to be a consistent problem maintaining pressure @ 4500psi. I was told fill ups were 4500psi early the morning of Switchback, but fill ups following weren’t over 3k, in a couple cases just over 2k. Seems I’m rarely getting 4500 during rec ball or scenario.
