Cell is not working right now. Have gotton word from my wife that she and my dad are ok. But can't get in touch with Jester. Someone try to call him please and post here to let me know if he is ok. His cell is 985-705-1472.

I'm glad you are doing good. I just tried calling him and I got his voice mail. I did not leave a message. If no one hears from him I will call again later.

I just spoke with Jester. Him and the family are doing well. He has a generator, but the power and phone lines are down. He wanted everyone to know he's fine and appreciates every ones concern.

Cingular cells are working now Sarge, so try to get in touch with your family. If you can't, pm me thier addresses if they are in Jefferson and I will take the squad and go check on them. Everything has calmed down and starting to smooth out now. Power coming back on in several areas of Jefferson. No power at my house on North Shore, dam trees. Don't know about store yet, Jester will check it out in the morning.

Jes is fine, though I can't get in touch with him today. Must have lost another cell tower last night. Ol'Dawg is doing great...he is such the survivalist! Wife and others are just fine tucked away in a hotel room far away from all this bullshit.
My fire department is starting it's stand-down today and sending home some of the off-duty crews to get some rest and check on their homes. I think I got just about everyone that sent me messages about their homes checked on, but most probably missed one or two...totally by mistake, sorry.
My crew will remain on duty till Wednesday morning and then we start our normal rotation again which will give me a few days off to fix all my stuff. I hope my electrical feed will be repaired by then so that all I have to wait for is the power company to hook me back up. God, I hate those trees around my house. This winter, they are all coming down!
Quiet last night...and really scary riding around in this city that is so lit up at night, but now is suddenly pitch black. Brings back too many memories of Katrina...really screwed up.
All-in-all, everything went fairly smooth. Damage to this area is fairly minimal...lots of down trees along with down power lines. No citizens are allowed back in yet. Same in my area so I have wife staying out of town till friday. Don't want her and my nephew coming home to a dark house.
Thanks Dad for taking care of the zoo animals at the house while all this was going on. I am sure Bailey Bird will be pissed that I have been gone so long and bite the crap out of me as soon as I open his cage. LOL!
