Brain and I will make a donation after this Saturday. This is just our personal contribution.
================================
It also sounds like Saturday, July 14th might be a good date for a mini-scenario.
We will keep the paint prices low and we might have admissions for a 12 hour event in the $20 - $25 range. The price really does not matter to us, since it will all be given back to the community. I just want to make sure it is low enough to be affordable for LOTS of players AND still generate enough funds to make this a meaningful event and donation.
These are just early numbers and dates. Nothing set in stone, as of 10:30 am, but we should be able to make an anouncement later today. Brain and I need to get together and work out the logistics. As for donations, we should be able to give 100% of admissions (and probably more) to charity.
Seanna, Brian and all of the PBC staff, please keep the date open and thank you, sincerely, for volunteering to staff the event. This will allow us contribute more to the charity.

Sounds good Skeeter and Brain. I will have a few coming down with me. We can help run, ref, or play. Your choice. Thanks for setting this up, it will mean a lot to the charity.

Sad
It was very sad news to hear of the deaths of so many fire fighters. I am not sure if so many first responders have perished in this country since 9/11/01.
It is great that the paintball community is making a difference.

Perhaps a paint donation (5 cases) would be great! Paintball Charleston is working feverishly on all the details as we speak. Stay tuned to this channel for more information!

Confirmed. July 14th. Probably 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Entry and paint prices yet to be determined. Lots of things to work out, and we may need to get some assistance from our suppliers, which will allow us to generate more for charity. We can make this a solid 10-hour event, and skip the dinner break… 10 hours of play, no interruptions.
Just a few things... All entry fees will to go towards the charity, so we may need a few volunteer refs to supplement our (hopefully, all volunteer) staff for the event. Any paint donated (from other fields/stores) will be sold to the players & all proceeds from donated paint sales will go to charity, of course.
MPP Games (Ben) will be attending the game, as a player, in some capacity. He is working on a banner today & will be offering up a substantial prize package that we will be used for charity, somehow.
There are 9 families in Charleston that desperately need our help. We need to show the rest of the community what our paintball family can do… More importantly, these families will have lots of expenses over the next few months and we can ease their burden substantially by stepping up for this event.

I will cover this event in it's entirety and donate any and all funds made from the article/pictures to charity. Any and all web hosting needed for this event will also be covered by PBjunkie.com.
If somebody can provide me a banner made from Ben's banner I'll gladly display it front page until the event is over.
Anything else I can do to help with the event, call me ASAP!

July 14 Benefit for Our Firefighters
I spoke with Skeeter earlier this afternoon to let him know that I was not only interested in playing the game but in helping them raise money for the families of those brave men who lost their lives in the line of duty. I am going to try and put together a prize package to be auctioned off, and included in that will be 2 cases of paint and free entry into all the remaining 2007 MPP games and for next year's series in 2008. This tragedy is close to our hearts as our son is a firefighter, and we understand what their bravery, commitment to duty, and self-sacrifice stand for. It also has touched a friend of ours and fellow paintball player, Russ with OmniForce, who knew some of the men.
We are proud to see the paintball community stepping forward to help, like a band of brothers.
I look forward to seeing everyone at PB Charleston on July 14, and hope that other field owners and players from all over the southeast will get behind this event. Let's get the word out asap.
