I play home games and welcome all junkies to join in (30th this month is next). I chrono and we keep it as safe as possible. You can never totaly prevent accidents but can only try and curtail them. I have bridges and they are old, so occassionaly a leg goes through or someone misses it and goes for a small dip. For the most part there are few injuries and we all end up having fun. I guess since it is a small area and over the past 8-10 years I have cleared out lots of stuff that could be considered dangerous that I have helped the safety aspect alot. There are still tricky spots where you could end up head over heels or slip down a 20 foot drop into the creek but that is part of the fun and excitement.
If you play a spot over and over you should do your best to clean it up and make it as safe as possible for others and your own sake. Noone wants to get hurt or see another player injured, play hard but also and foremost play smart.

Good advice! The stuff is running rampant over all the fields I have played this year and I have seen a few people scratching all evening after a game.
Be smart...stupid cow always gets it wrong........lol

I do see Bubble's point... But I do encourage people in our area if they are going to play in the back yard, to please come by our field and at least chrono, and to practice safety where they play (Barrel plugs, masks on, etc...). I know that some newer players don't understand how important these things are (I didn't when I was new to the sport), but the more experienced players should know and do better.

Like SCPaintballer01 said.. BE SMART! (In addition to poison ivy, I also wouldn't recommend laying in or behind a fire ant mound for cover... I don't care how comfy the squishy dirt is.)

But the fire ants help scratch the poison ivy! Or is it the poison ivy helps relieve the fire ant bites?

Playing backyard paintball is what got me back into the game after an 8 year lapse. A bunch of us would get together once or twice a month to play woodsball or speedball out on someone's property and we would have an absolute blast. Now i've gotten into the larger arena of scenario paintball and love it. If it hadn't been for outlaw ball I wouldn't have had the experience and thrill of playing in some the best events paintball has to offer.
